They are commonly found in tropical regions they are also, bio indicators which can determine the state of an ecosystem. The document I am reviewing is “The Broken Spears: The Aztecs Account of the Conquest of Mexico” from chapter 16. This piece was the work of more than one author, which included native priests and wise men who encountered the Spanish and the Indians of Mexico. The authors of this document were educated, religious people. This document was once an account that was passed down orally and later written down and translated. This document was written for future generations of the Aztec people, which included both the rulers and their subjects. The authors of this piece expected the future generations of the Aztec people to read this.…

House is brilliant and worth something to the hospital in spite of his terrible bed side manner and despicable personality by pointing out some of the reasons he is the way he is. For example that he limps and has to use a cane by no fault of his own but due to a miss-diagnosed illness. He does not trust or like people and does not feel comfortable around them in part due to him having an abusive childhood. This is needed in order to display empathy towards this character and help to make his behavior tolerable to both the audience and the characters in the…

    Dr. Benjamin Rush

“All will end well.” (The Signers, page 43) This was Dr. Benjamin Rush’s favorite saying which summed up his life of vast accomplishments, as evidenced in a letter to Thomas Jefferson from John Adams that he knew “of no Character living or dead, who has done more real good in America” (Benjamin Rush, Patriot and Physician, page ix). He was a great doctor at the time he lived and worked diligently to heal countless people. However, his methods of curing people were dangerous and he probably hurt more than he actually helped. Despite being a strong believer in the barbaric practices of bloodletting and purging as a cure for yellow fever, Benjamin Rush was ahead of his time in the tremendous contributions he made to the field of medicine and in the area of social reform.…

Restrictive interventions have a serious potential for infringing individual rights and for causing harm to them as well as staff. This is the least desirable way of addressing challenging behaviour and is considered as a last resort method. When it is used it should be used with least restrictive interventions as it can be very intimidating for an individual who is vulnerable and unable to get control of themselves. By using the least restrictive intervention it can stop a situation from escalating.…

In context to “SECOND AMENDMENT vs GUN CONTROL” and Chapter 6 I have chosen conflict theory to explain why it is so difficult for congress to pass gun control laws. The reason I choose to use conflict theory is because I regard “Power and social inequality as the main characteristics of society.”(Henslin 168) by this I believe the power elites of the U.S.A would like to keep the current gun control laws the same and use the criminal justice system to “maintain their power and privilege.”(Henslin 168). the right to bare arms is a right of the people and by trying to change laws associated with that right people hold the potential to overthrow the current social order and the power elites so I believe that congress will not pass new gun control laws because it threatens the power of the powerful and wealthy such as the power elites.…

I would like to introduce you to Dr. Pappasergi, my hero. Her birthday is October 23. As she grew up she started thinking about what she wanted to be when she grew up. After high school, she went to California University of Pennsylvania. Her first job was an in home counselor and she also worked in Behavioral Wrap Around Services. She then became the principal of Mendon Elementary. A couple years later she went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania for her doctorate degree. During that year I was hit by a tornado of drama. She was the only person at Mendon Elementary who actually knew how I was feeling. Another reason she is considered a hero to me is she understood when a group of kids got together and blamed a bunch of the rules they broke on my doing. She is a loving and caring person and a wonderful principal. During her spare time she shops, works out, and she is amazingly into essential oils. Her hero is her father. If she could have one super human power it would be to stop time. She loves working with kids every day. Her favorite book is Nineteen Minutes by Jody Peakle because it makes her think about what can happen in a school. Her favorite movie is Greece. She decided to become a principal a couple days after she was cleaning out her mom’s house.…

    Doctor Personal Statement

Many years ago, my family fled persecution from our war-torn country, in hopes to provide a better, more secure future for their children. As a family, we adjusted to a foreign country; we persevered through poverty, and attempted to make the American Dream a reality. We started off small, with a local convenience store run by our own family. I quickly learned the hard and fast lessons of responsibility, maturity, and commitment while working to provide for the family. I witnessed my family reach their highest goals, with a recipe of passion, dedication, and integrity. I plan on using these invaluable lessons through my everyday challenges, to hopefully aid in becoming a physician.…

    Physician 1 Reflection

This past week I had the opportunity to shadow two radiologist (whom for the purpose of this reflection will remain unnamed) at Hillcrest. After being escorted to the imaging room by a staff member, I was greeted by two annoyed grunts. Twenty minutes later Physician 1 introduced himself, and then proceeded to vent his frustration about the multiple interruptions that had occurred earlier in the day. Physicians 1 & 2 were now far behind schedule, and the emergency department continued piling on unnecessary CT scans. Physician 2 then spoke up and explained that over scanning leads to an increased work load for radiologists because every bodily structure imaged must be interpreted regardless of the relevance to the patient’s chief complaint. This…
