If a player advances up the court without dribbling the ball this is called a walk and the other team will get the ball. When dribbling the ball the player can only put one hand at a time on the ball, if a player places both hands on the ball at the same time this is called a double dribble. Technique is another very important element to the game. Some techniques that can be worked on are juggling, dribbling, and passing. There are many different exercises that can be done to perfect these techniques. To perfect juggling a pair can be used or it can be done individually, this will help good ball control from the air to the ground. Dribbling can be done well with simply using cones or some sort of maze to travel through with the ball. When dribbling is perfected one can pass through the defenders with better ease. No literally, all you need to know how to do is dribble the ball and shoot and you’ve got the fundamentals down. It’ll only take a few months to get very good but if you dribble and shoot around everyday, it can happen in 2 weeks. Experience is the only key. Not only talking about the offensive strategy but also defense, which is a little more painful. But knowing that nobody can get passed you and you can dribble and shoot at a %60 percent, which is great and regulated basketball. Defensively, all you have to do is spread your legs and follow the ball, always watch the offensive player’s waist, when you feel the need to attack the ball then go for it. Getting your ankles broken or shaken up during basketball means good defense believe it or not, just get up and try…
