Benefits of risk assessing a babysitting environment

Children
It will make sure that the children are safe in a babysitting environment, like make sure there aren’t any hazards for the children to get hurt.
You need to make sure that the environment is safe by law- it is good practice to do this, where ever you are working like at your house or the parents’ house.
To eliminate any hazards in the babysitter’s house or the parents’ house so the children don’t get hurt.
To make sure that their isn’t any prevented accidents around the home for the children to hurt themselves or if major they could go to hospital.
You have to reassure the parent’s that their children are safe, by the parents ringing up and checking if there isn’t a problem with their children and if everything is ok.
So we know what areas of the house we should prevent the children from going in, e.g. fire guard keep an eye on the fire guard in case the children are playing with it and they could get burnt or hurt themselves.

Babysitting
It will make sure that you and the children are safe.
You have to be aware of any hazards so you or the children don’t get hurt.
To prevent accidents so you have to make sure they are no hazards around the house so there isn’t any harming to the children and you.
Don’t invite anyone round without permission from the parents encase anything goes missing or broken.
Make sure the parents have peace of mind knowing that you and their children are safe at home or the parent’s house.
