Aztec Influence On Native American Culture

Throughout primary and secondary education, school age children learn that Native American was the first to live on America soil. They are a tribal culture consisting of a hunter and gather. However, student also learnt that many conflicts arose when Europeans settler claim their land for themselves. War broke out between the two cultures resulting in the Treaty of Paris, and French and Indian, war. As to slander the Native American culture European dean, them as ignorant savages depict them as anti-peace, anti-Christian, and barbaric. Nevertheless, this is so far from the truth; before the arrival of the European, the Native American inhabited ever part of the North American region. Aztec writing is difficult to learn therefore, people of noble status such, as priest and scribes were the only ones who could write and read written records. The Aztec also uses art to dress the priest and noble headdress, design pottery and stone art. Nevertheless, the Aztec life was not all work and no play. They enjoy sport and game. One sport of their sport resembles basketball and soccer if the two sport were combine. It is call tlachtli and it was played with rubber ball on an (I) shaped court. The object of the game is for a player to get the ball in the hoop with his knee only and the first team to do so win. Another game is call patolli this is a gambling game played with stones and dry bean on an X shape board. There were also music and dance; many of the Aztec instrument consists of rattle, flute, drum, whistles, trumpets, copper bell and shell.
