Preface

Welcome to period 4 – this time in English.
You started this year as a designer of a turnaround process. In the second period you worked as an advisor for KLM regarding their network planning. During the third project you were a planner, planning the capacity of the luggage system at Schiphol.
In the next seven weeks you will be working on the catchment area of three London airports. The airports concerned are Heathrow, Stansted and City airport. As they are all within a radius of 100 km from each other, how do they generate revenues? What are their strategies? How do they negotiate with the different airlines and the different suppliers?

Chapter 14 is titled “Project Planning and Scheduling” and it is mainly about the planning and scheduling of projects with the unique, one-time production activity. There were three main objectives that were described in this chapter and there were time, cost, and performance. These objectives are conflicting, trade-offs among them must constantly be made in the course of managing projects. They also go through three phases: planning, scheduling, and control. This planning phase organizes and establishes the objectives for the project.…

Langston Hughes, a well known American poet, was born and raised in mild poverty and faced many struggles during his childhood and early adulthood. Due to the circumstances surrounding his life, Hughes developed a strong emotional connection to anyone facing struggles, particularly youth growing up in poor areas of American cities, such as New York City's Harlem area. After realizing these connections, Hughes was able to successfully address the difficulties of life and the struggles of the people, through the piece "Harlem”. The use of a distinct voice, beginning with such a strong title, compels the audience to continue through the poem, where we are exposed to strong use of voice, tone, symbolism, word choice, and poetic structure.…

It's really hard to choose between the two applicants, Sebastian Slime and Mordecai Rossi, because they have so much in common. Firstly, they each have an MBA from Harvard and performed equally well in their course work. Since finishing graduate school, Sebastian has been able to use his personality to assume a responsible position in a trade company. In the same way, Mordecai has been able to assume a responsible position in a manufacturing company. Both seem to have performed well in those jobs. What is most remarkable though, is that they have identical hobbies and are members of the same clubs. They enjoy skiing, golf and bridge and have membership of the Snob Valley Country Club and the Brown Nose Beach Bridge Association.…
