Awe Persuasive Speech
Awe...I'm glad. And the only burden is what you put on yourself. You are no burden to me whatsoever! I may not suffer from anxiety per se, but I have a slew of other hang ups and issues that make it so I can totally empathize. It's funny how mood can make one perceive things. In my first email I was trying to be super reassuring. I would not want to make you feel worse. But I know what it's like to be in a bad head space where nothing seems to make things better. I am also not going anywhere so get that out of your head.
Kate,
You are not different you are special. You are not weird or pitied; you are an amazing enigma . They talk, because to them you are complex and they are not, and cannot fathom what that must be like. You don't

Not long after my fiancé and I were living together, he ordered Lucinda Bassett's Attacking Anxiety and Depression CD set for me. At first, he thought it would be a waste of money. But, he saw how I was suffering and got it for me. I am so thankful he did. I couldn't afford it and needed her help so badly. The program is fabulous, and I'm going to give it a listen again. I know it's been years, but life is full of change and sometimes, when things feel a bit out of sync, some guidance and reinforcement is needed. If my gut tells me it's time to listen to her program again, (and it's telling me that right now), it's time to do it. Go with your gut. Talk out your anxiety with someone who will listen and can guide you. I did. I met with a counselor for over a year. At first, I thought I was going because I couldn't deal with my divorce. Well, as it turned out, there were many issues that needed to be brought to the table: the loss of sight in my left eye; my miscarriage; my divorce; my struggle to eat, drive, do things socially without forcing myself to do so. May you find something here help you as you learn how to cope with…

If people could acknowledge what you are going through is empathy. If you could acknowledge what they're going through you could help them and be by their side no matter what. In a story with Temple Grandin many people laugh and tease her because they thought she was dumb. Temple was a very bright thinker in a way only autistic people like her could understand. Temple was a very smart person and the people who really saw what she was going through and how she overcame it saw her true intelligence. In the video in under the surface it shoes many different types of people but same in a way. They all were going through a tough time in their life that you couldn't understand. Before you start to judge people for acting weird or different just think…

I can relate with your communication assessment. I don’t communicate the same with everyone. This is due to the level of respect, education, familiarity or authority that person holds. I’ve learned throughout the years that not every conversation needs a reply. Also, some are intimidated by your education and feel belittled during a conversation. I tend to make small talk and keep it simple.…

If you look at this from a different angle, though, some people think that outsiders are people they think they know inside and out, and they find out that they are completely different from the rest of “us”. So he or she is now known for something that other people take as “weird” or “odd”. However, that person could just have a peculiar quirk that makes him or her different in a small way. Or another way we could put it, is that that person was misunderstood or misjudged. All people have different quirks that make them, them. It’s just that some people are better at “hiding” it than…

When I went in for my appointment with a mental health counselor, all I was given was a name, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I was not given any specific way to get better, and I slowly realized that if I was going to get better, it would be up to me. I need to be more honest with myself and who I am. After today, this diagnosis became a part of who I was. From here on, I need to focus on becoming the best version of myself. Sometimes it is too much for me to deal with on my own, so I put my worries onto other people. I can’t do that anymore because I lost so many friends from this. Today was a start. Even though this is just a step, I am still moving…

All my life I’ve been treated differently. I grew up in therapy basically. My sister is Autistic and she was diagnosed at about 6 or 7. I’ve had to attend individual and family therapy since I was 4 or 5. My mother didn’t really tell me my sister was Autistic until I was about 11 or 12. Growing up, people always asked me why my sister was so weird. I used to say she was just different. That’s because I didn't know much about Autism. As I grew up, I started to understand my sister more. I realized that there was nothing wrong with her, she just thought differently.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…
