Ava Community Center Case Study
What would be the most beneficial way to spend two million dollars in order to help the whole community of Ava? This question seems so easy for others to answer, “let's build an arena or let’s build an animal shelter.” Do those ideas actually help the whole community? To me, those suggestions only apply to certain age and social groups throughout the community and whoever came up with the ideas is thinking of what they want rather than what the community needs. Although we already have two places in Ava that can be considered a community center, I do not think they possess all of the everything that the town is still in need of.

A community center in Ava would be a wonderful addition to help make the community a safer and better place to live in. This town needs one place that can help you solve day to day problems. According to government data, there is about 15.7 American families depending on food stamps and

Only 12% of the population goes to the gym regularly and 32.4% of missouri's population is overweight. I think that the community center should have a gym that could also offer weight loss tips and guidelines to help diminish the obesity in the state of Missouri. In Ava, we have a lot of elementary students that do not have a place to go after school due to the fact that their parents are working. The Ava School District has a program called Bear's Den that allows those students to stay after school for a certain amount of time but why should we keep those students in a place they do not want to be for a longer period of time? I think that our community center should have a designated place for children of different age groups to go. Elementary and middle school students should be transported to the community center to a place where they can enjoy the time after school when their parents are working. I also believe that our community center should have a daycare and senior citizen center in it. An important addition to our community
