Automated Payroll System
Introduction
Our world of today’s time is surrounded by modern technologies which are continuously developing as time goes by. Many inventions are developed to make people’s life easier and more productive with the use of these technologies. One of the most useful products of modern inventions is the computer, and we can’t deny the fact that it really changed people’s life and lifestyle into an easier and exciting one. Almost all people of different walks of life, public and private companies all over the world had already engaged with modern technologies. People are engaging and using these things simply because it is useful for them. As BSIT students who were aiming to be an IT Professional someday, one of our tasks which are also expected for us to do is to analyze and think of a system that can help solve the difficulties and problems encountered by a certain company in using their existing system. We looked for a company who still uses a manual system on their transactions and data processing. We found out that JTS Corporation located at Fuentes St. Iloilo City, is using the manual system on their timekeeping and payroll processing. We proposed a Computerized Timekeeping and Payroll System for a time-saving, easy and convenient processing of payroll. The Timekeeping and Payroll Officer of JTS Corporation encountered difficulties in the processing of payroll since she is computing the total number of hours of every employee’s timecard manually which sometimes, the unavoidable errors occur. Payroll, at its most basic, is the process by which an employer pays an employee for work performed. The receipt of an exact and expected amount of the employee’s salary is what motivates them to work and perform their tasks well. If the employer fails to give the employees the exact salary because of the erroneous inputs, the employees might lose their enthusiasm towards work and if not given a solution and happens repeatedly, quitting will be the worst result.
