The number of cars that are built is unbelievable more than 200 million are built all around the world. Over 100 million americans own at least 1 vehicle and around 20 million families own at least 2 vehicles. But for all the car that are mass produced only 1 in 10 know how the car works. And in this essay i will teach you what it takes to become an auto technician. The job outlook in the auto technician field is very positive and is growing every day. But with it growing yearly there is still a job shortage, And most auto techs will work late nights and weekend. As a auto tech you have to be ready to work the overtime. The outlook is so positive that In 10 years auto techs are believed to grow by 39100 job openings. In 2014 there was 739000 …show more content…
To become a auto tech you will need two years at a post secondary school like a vocational school or a community college. Before you can become a tech you need you ase certification. With you ase certification your options are endless as you can get a job at almost anywhere you fill a job app out for. If you know more then some people then you can get finished with the class in 12-18 months. So if you want to be finished quicker than i would suggest that you go in with some basic knowledge around a car. There are two types of auto techs, There is a master mechanic and a apprentice. To be able to become a master mechanic you must follow under another master mechanic for two years and then after you do that you become a master mechanic. You can be a all around master mechanic or you can be a master mechanic for just one thing on a car, for example there is a master mechanic for just brakes, transmission, engine, suspension, or driveline. When you start working you need to be prepared to go back to school for more learning as cars are advancing every day. Also if you do to a vocational school you need to buy your own tools and equipment. Also if you go to a vocational school you will be ase certified and a master mechanic as you followed a instructor who was a master
