August Rush : Plot
This is a story of a music prodigy. Lyla is a renowned and beautiful cellist and Louis is a guitar player and vocalist at a club. Lyla and Louis fall in love once they meet each other following the music. Since they have different lives, they have to separate without seeing each other again. However, Lyla has had their baby - Evan, a prodigy born to music. Lyla has an accident and bears the baby but Lyla's father gives the baby to an orphanage without telling her, for fear of affecting her career. After that, both Louis and Lyla give up their music careers. Eleven years later, poor little Evan believes that his parents are waiting for him and goes to New York to find them. In New York, his musical gift leads him to success but also gives him some trouble. A monger uses Evan to make money and prevents him from achieving success. He escapes and runs into a church and people there are surprised by his gift and send him to the best music school, Juilliard. There he receives an education where his genius is recognized, and he creates his composition - August Rhapsody in C major. At the same time, Lyla and Louis both begin to play music again and Louis returns to New York. Because of his perfect performance, Evan is granted an opportunity to play his music in Central Park in front of thousands of people. There are three composers featured, of which he is the last; his mother is the cellist in the preceding performance. As Evan is conducting the orchestra in his rhapsody, Lyla and Louis come to the concert following the music again. The family finally get together! After careful reviewing of the information provided by our firm, Mr. Plex along with the consortium decided that it is best if the firm conducted a random sample of 100 patrons and analyze the results. In turn, the sample revealed that 6 out of the 100 patrons surveyed agreed with Tommy and resented the ads. It only makes sense because if the sample were to have bigger numbers, you would see that there are a lot more people that resent the ads as well. Now, with that being said, if instead, 300 patrons had been randomly surveyed and 18 out of the 300 patrons agreed with Tommy and resented the ads, our answer would still remain the same. The percentage from both would still hit 60%, and that’s already more than what was asked in the first place which was more than 10%. The reality of the case is that obviously there are those who don’t mind the previews before the movie starts because that gives them a little more time to get to the theater if they are running late. Then there are those who absolutely hate it (like Tommy) and that ruins their experience. However, that has been a part of the process for a while and it wouldn’t make sense to remove the ads for the reason that the company and the studios would lose money. It all comes down to whether or not a reasonable person standard would take the same action Tommy did if they didn’t like a movie or commercials. However, since the percentage is actually more than 10%, the consortium will have to consider negotiating a settlement of some sort of any lawsuit filed by Tommy.…

Reisz aids Edna with her worries by permitting her to read the letters from Robert Lebrun, the man who awakens Edna with their forbidden love before moving to Mexico. This helps Edna to continue her journey in her awakening, as the narrator states, “Edna was sobbing, just as she had wept one midnight at Grand Isle when strange, new voices awoke in her” (Chapter 21). Another key point is when Reisz alerts Edna of the forthcoming struggles she will face. The musician assures Edna of the consequences to the path of liberty, testifying that, “The artist must possess the courageous soul, the soul that dares and defies” (Chapter…

The scene inside a snow globe is typically simple, peaceful and orderly – until its turned upside down. Authors employ literary devices within their writing to transmit emotion and fully involve a reader in the story. Often, contrast among characters perspectives is necessary in a drama to properly interpret intended themes. Different angles of interpretation allow a reader to avoid getting lost in one apparent mindset, and to think more critically of each character and event. Father and son relationships are very complicated and many aspects are well documented in books, poems, and film. As the father of two young sons, four and two, I was deeply affected by the film “The Music Never Stopped,” directed by Jim Kohlberg. I had the privilege of viewing this film at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011. This is the first film I have seen in my adult life that caused me to weep openly several times. I connected with the struggle of this father as he dealt with a devastating brain injury to his estranged son. The film covered three common themes in father and son relationships. Rebellion, guilt, and acceptance are woven throughout the film. Each theme reminded me, as the father of two boys, I will have to deal with all of these issues in the future. I hope I handle things better than the father, Henry Sawyer, did in the film.…

Rather than focus on the gloomy and lonely lives people live, they focus on how people can grow and come together in times like this. The artists also inspire intense emotions through their music. Emotions create effective works of art. This musical has a beautiful message that everyone needs to hear and has touched me this year as I have faced the same feelings as Evan and many other high school students who feel as though they are “on the outside always looking in” (Waving Through a…
