AUDIT METHODOLOGY

A systematic environmental audit consists of 3 main stages:
Pre-Audit
On-site Audit
Post Audit
All 3 stages need to be fulfil in order to complete the audit procedure on water quality management which to ensure clean water is to be preserved to be consumed by the end user.
Pre-Audit
Pre-audit is the first step in the audit procedure. During a pre-audit, a company or individual’s financial documents are examined to ensure that all information is correct before the company or individual undergoes an official audit. The pre-audit process may be undertaken by employees of the company being pre-audited, or the company may hire an independent organization to examine its finances.

Pre-audit deals with preparations prior to the audit on-site. The work include:
Communicating with the personnel on the audit obtaining background information about the site.
Defining the scope and intent of the audit.
Determining the type of audit.
Selecting audit team members (it is necessary for delegation of duties according to division)
Preparing the necessary equipment.
Eg: audit checklists, personal protective equipment and other audit tools.
Making preparations on logistic, accommodations and transportation if needed
Sending a letter of notification to the site to confirm the audit on-site.

On-site Audit
The second stage of systematic environmental audit is On-site audit. At this stage the auditor will make a full review of issues relating to the water quality management. This phase comprises five events in sequence which is:
1. Opening meeting
The meeting are attend by audit team which is made up of one or more auditors, one whom is appointed to be the audit leader and also the management of the company or the auditee. The objectives of the opening meeting are to meet with the management representatives:
To explain and confirm the audit plan, outlining the objectives, scope and audit procedures
Provide a short summary or how the audit activities will be
