A. How much does your audience already know about your topic and how will you design your speech regarding their level of knowledge?

The audience probably only knows about Marilyn Manson from the media and or the few songs they’ve heard of his on the radio. They most likely know that he is a controversial individual. I won 't go too deeply into his life, but rather just describe the basics of what he is about and why he is inspiring.

Some of the reasons include the time that he lived in and the ways that he controlled others to do what he want them to do. Manson is behind bars in Corcoran State Prison where he doesn’t have much contact with other inmates. Even though we may not be able to see him, he is still an icon that is very popular and well-known icon in our society today. Many celebrities have brought back Manson's image like Trent Reznor, a member of Nine-Inch Nails, who has his recording studio in the house where Sharon Tate and others were killed. The name of the studio is "Pig Studios," because of the reference it has to the word "Pig" which was written on one of the doors while the murders were being committed. Lots of books have been written that have to do with the killings and hundreds of web sites are devoted to him. Lots of these people believe he is innocent and that he is God, while others tell the "real story" of what really happened. Movies and music have been made too. He was a true hippie; he was into drugs, sex, and rock 'n' roll like many others in the 1960’s. Because of this, many people are curious as to what kind of person it takes to commit such horrible crimes and have no remorse for…

The reason why I chose Manson for my analysis is because this man is an obviously highly disturbed individual. Also, being from Los Angeles where most of his crimes occurred, I’ve seen first-hand some of the crime scenes and heard personal stories from family members about encounters. When my mother was a young teenager, she lived near Manson’s Spahn Ranch in Chatsworth, CA and used to hike the trails alongside his house. No one knew until later that he was actually living there at the time.…

He convinced his family that he was the christ and everything he said was considered right and should be executed without questions. He did this so called brainwashing by giving members of his family pills LSD pills. He had his family members kill many people and tried to blame it on the blacks.…

Brainwash and Andy Warhol. I like their works a lot. Although their art works are always debatable, thus some people might even don’t like them. The best thing about them is that they are all simple and clear, and the most important is they tell the people the idea directly. Numerous people don’t get why would Mr. Brainwash be so ridiculously famous and successful, and some people even hate him. However, his works and he are even much more popular. Some people buy his works because they just want to hang it in the bathroom and look at it while taking a shit. The story behinds his works and the beautiful simple image, we have to say they are just too good to be just an art work. Andy Warhol, the godfather of pop art, tells story and message through his simple and easy to understand works. 2014 summer I was in New York. To see their works in person, I felt incredibly amazed. The real size, texture, brush line, the harmony of colors, etc. I could felt why and how Mr. Brainwash and Andy made them. Just like sometimes I feel like I must express something in my mind through my art works, or a message I what to tell. Therefore, in my opinion art works are not just all about how gorgeous it is, but also the message within and how it catches the people. Communication design has a really important purpose, which is to help the idea or the product to express…
