Audette Von Trauss Analysis
The story follows the redemption of Audette von Trauss, the heir apparent of the Kingdom of Pacellum. Yona lives the carefree life of a princess in the Sentalung Castle, being sheltered by her pacifistic father, Regent King Marcus von Trauss, and protected by her bodyguard and childhood friend Ryker. During a party being held in honor of the late Queen's birthday, Audette's other childhood friend and love interest Arthur comes to pay tribute to the King before his year-long journey. Wishing to read a letter her mother gave to her for her sixteenth birthday with her father, Audette visits the King's chambers and witnesses him being killed by Arthur, who reveals that he will now properly rule Pacellum.     In his description of being liberated from the camps, Frankl (2006)says, “Only slowly could these men be guided back to the commonplace truth that no one has the right to do wrong, not even if wrong has been done to them” (p. 91).
