The protagonist of the story is Atticus Finch himself, who is being a successful and smart lawyer devoted to his high moral principles is at the same time loving father of his children. Atticus Finch uses a lot of stylistic devices in his speech in order to persuade the jury. The most frequently used is the epithet to contribute to the expressiveness of the lawyer’s speech. For example, a quiet, respectable, humble Negro; the cynical confidence. The metaphor is another figure of speech used in the text: it requires no sifting of complicated facts; no code mattered to her before she broke it, but it came crashing down on her afterwards. To produce a humorous effect and convey a negative meaning the irony is used by the author to show the attitude to certain facts or events: so quite respectable, humble Negro who had the unmitigated temerity to feel sorry for a white woman. There are several examples of simile which are used by Atticus to show an unexpected confrontation of two objects: we know is in itself a lie as black as Tom Robinson’s skin...; this case is as simple as black and white. The speaker intensely chooses such word as black to refer the audience to Tom Robinson’s racial belonging which must not take any matter for them. In spite of lexical stylistic devices a number of syntactical stylistic devices are used. The one of them which helps to catch the reader’s attention is the repetition, in the text we find different types of it. Among them is
