Attending Harborfest Experience

Experience of Attending Harborfest When I first received the information about Harborfest, my husband and I decided to take a day off on June 8, 2013 (Saturday) to attend the event. We reached at Downtown Norfolk, Virginia Waterfront at 4.30pm. I saw a lot of people gathered in front of the waterside. They seem to enjoy the festival. I grabbed an event information book from the visitor information counter on the way I visited from booth to booth. I learned that it was the 37th Annual Norfolk Harborfest, and it began more than a quarter century ago when the Norwegian Tall Ship Christian Radich came to call on Norfolk, a waterfront community that had no city-owned property on which to dock a ship. Over the next two years, city planners and leaders created berthing to accommodate more ships, and they planned the waterfront public. Then, the Norfolk Harborfest was born. This festival is a celebration of the region’s rich nautical heritage. I heard one of the White women said this is the second largest event in Norfolk. At the time, I felt lucky that I have made a right decision to spend my time to witness this traditions event with my family.
The fabulous show only can find at the booth of Wacky Chad. This wildly appealing show kept audiences smiling and clapping long after he has finished his energizing shows. I felt impressed with the shows by Wacky Chad as he is a stunt comedian, unicyclist, juggler, unique pogo stick performer, strolling entertainer, magician, and stand-up comic, all in one show. Opposite to the Wacky Chad’s booth, I noticed that a lot of people were line up to taste the best craft beers. I am not drinking, but I thought people might like to have a cup of beer in this hot
