As most of the laptops present these days no not contain serial port, an interface connector that connects the serial port to the USB drive of a laptop used. This enables the data to be sent to the laptop where it is processed.

g) Zigbee: Zigbee is an established set of specifications for wireless personal area networking (WPAN), i.e. digital radio connection between computers and related devices. WPAN low rate or zigbee provides specifications for devices that have low data rates, consume very low power and thus characterized by long battery life. zigbee makes possible completely networked homes where all devices are able to communicate and controlled by a single unit personal computers may be connected to a local area network (LAN), either by a cable or a wireless connections.
h) Personal computer: While early PC owners usually had to write their own programs to do anything useful with machine, today’s users have access to a wide range of commercial and non -commercial software, which is provided in ready –to- run or ready - to- compile form.

In June 1980, Microsoft focuses on a new operating system—the software that manages, or runs, the computer hardware and also serves to bridge the gap between the computer hardware and programs, such as a word processor. It’s the foundation on which computer programs can run. They name their new operating system "MSDOS.” When the IBM PC running MSDOS ships in 1981, it introduces a whole new language to the general public. Typing “C:” and various cryptic commands gradually becomes part of daily work. People discover the backslash (\) key. MSDOS is effective, but also proves difficult to understand for many people. There has to be a better way to build an operating system.…

Since the 1990s, Microsoft Windows operating systems have remained a dominant force in the world of computing in both personal and professional environments. Although other operating systems (OS), like Linux and Apple’s iOS, have also coexisted with Windows for quite some time, Windows has managed to remain the leading OS of choice, and by a very large margin. According to statistics gathered by W3Counter.com dating back to October of 2007, the estimated percentage of PCs worldwide that were running Windows-based operating systems was around 94.09%. Only recently has this number begun to noticeably shrink; as of October 2011, the percentage has fallen to around 80.21%.…

ZigBee provides efficient wireless connectivity between small packet devices. The reason for this choice is that ZigBee devices can sustain themselves on a small battery for many months or years. A common choice of battery for a WSN device is carbon zinc or alkaline batteries as they are widely available and come at a low cost. To extend the battery life a WSN device is programmed at certain intervals to wake up and transmit data, this is done by powering on the radio and off again to save on battery usage and conserve energy. To ensure that this process is efficient and data is…

Compared to Bluetooth, ZigBee provides higher network flexibility and a larger number of nodes, and a better transmission range with low power consumption. Recently, ZigBee-based wireless networks were tested in various applications. In [8], the authors investigate the use of ZigBee and mobile phones in monitoring elderly patients with diabetes mellitus or heart diseases. A ZigBee WiMAX nursery system for patient monitoring was proposed in [9]. An interesting application of ZigBee-based wireless sensor nodes in the real-time monitoring of fruit logistics is discussed in [10]. The work presented here simply attempts to probe into the applicability, usefulness, and practicality of using wireless-ZigBee based network in monitoring the signs of patients on a hospital floor and surrounding area without confining them to a bed. The presented solution is meant to be both simple, cost effective and hopefully causes minimal interference with the patient’s mobility and comfort. A wearable sensor unit, attached to the patient’s body, reads and transmits the patient’s fetal…

XBee Pro S1 is used for wireless transmission of data over terrestrial or underwater. XBee is short range with low data through put wireless communication system. It is used for point-point or multipoint transmission with UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) interface. XBee Pro S1 belongs to a popular family XBee. Asynchronous means that data is transferred without support from an external clock. Data bit can be sent at any point. Start and stop bits are used between data bytes to synchronize the transmitter and receiver. It is most cost effective method.RS 232 Logic operates -13v to -5v indicate a data bit of value 1.For +5v to +13 v indicate a data bit value 0. In TTL logic 0 to 0.8 indicate a data bit zero and 2v to 5v indicate high data bit 1.A UART is a block of circuitry responsible for implementing serial communication. One end of the UART is a bus of eight or so data lines on the other is two serial wires- Rx and Tx.…
