Athena Vs Odysseus
Gods will be gods. Mortals will be mortals. Athena will always inherently have more power than Odysseus because she is of a different nature. Consequently, Athena’s capability to be deceptive will always be superior to Odysseus’ because she has godly powers while Odysseus does not.
Time and time again, Athena has had to help Odysseus on his journey home. Frankly, without her, Odysseus’ trek back to Ithaka would have been much more difficult. Specifically, as Odysseus is nearly at Ithaca, Athena has to cast a grey mist over Odysseus to protect him from others hurting him. Likewise, she has to disguise Odysseus frequently to ensure his safety and his successful journey home. If Odysseus did not have these disguises, the unfolding of events

    Similar to most Homeric heroes, Odysseus wants to obtain glory and recognition for his courageous deeds. Though he would often take it too far and become arrogant, confidence is hugely important in leadership.
