The task requires a description of the range of businesses, covering their purpose and proprietorship of two different businesses.
The phrase ‘range of businesses’ refers to a range of diverse types of business. The ways to classify range of businesses would be according to where they operate; what the business are trying to achieve; and the sector of business activity they are involved in. Tesco was created in 1919 by a Jewish, Royal Flying Corp member called Jack Cohen. Jack had initiated his business with a market stall in East End, London with development of business growth. Jack Cohen eventually created his own brand in 1924, with a collaboration of an early supplier called TE Stockwell and his own surname first two initials to create “TESCO”.

Tesco, a large public limited company that serves in 12 different countries (examples include India, Malaysia, Poland and China) employing over 500,000 employees in 7,599 stores (including franchises) and a turnover of £63,557million. Tesco serve a purpose of providing general merchandise, clothing, food, electronics etc. Tesco provides services such as banking, insurance, mobile phone service, opticians and much more.
Tesco would be identified as a global scaled corporation because it operates in 12 different countries.
Tesco belongs to the secondary and tertiary sector because it delivers products and services to other businesses such as the HSC and Star Bazaar, whilst selling goods and services globally in 12 different countries.

India
Tesco associate with the Hindustan Service Centre (HSC) to provide services with a staff of over 6500.
Tesco signed a franchise agreement in 2008, with the Tata group in India to supply goods and services of 80% sold by Star Bazaar.

Malaysia
The launch of business occurred in 2002 across Peninsular Malaysia with additional acquisition of two stores.
Tesco in Malaysia are offered a wide range of 4,000 own brand products that include 90% of own brand products sourced in
