Ashley's Humorous Wedding
Ashley’s free spirited soul was uniquely tied to the design of her fun filled wedding with many whimsical details which created an everlasting memory of the day she said her vows to the love of her life and began the next chapter of her life as a young married woman.
On August 10, 2012 the small church was carefully decorated with lush greenery, natural colored Raffia ribbon and brightly colored blue, yellow, pink and green Gerber daisies. Soft blue lights dimly illuminated the stage with cheerful photo being projected in the background of a flowery meadow with fluffy clouds and butterflies giving the feeling of truly being outdoors.
The vibrant colors of the Gerber daisies were the basis of the color scheme for the wedding party. Each bridesmaid’s dress and groomsman’s suspenders were paired to match the blue, yellow, pink and green of the Gerber daisies, along with the colors of their customer ordered Converse tennis shoes. I listened as Trina spoke about love, marriage, God’s will for husband and wife, and lead the reciting of the vows. Trina prayed over their marriage that God would bless them, and then present them to us for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. When we all stood up watching them leave the church, everyone was a bit surprised when the entire wedding party jumped off the stage and danced down the aisle to “Float On” by Modest Mouse. The reception that followed the ceremony was fairly simple. The wedding cake was a gift from Ashley’s aunt. It was a super moist three layer white cake with creamy white butter cream frosting delicately piped Cornelli Lace around the edges. Each layer was topped with Gerber daisies. The cake topper was a figure of a man and woman embraced with a cross behind them. A refreshing tropical pineapple punch was provided to quench the

In nature, bounteous displays and vivid colors are considered ideal, especially when it comes to flowers. A great example of this is Little Bouquet in a Clay Jar by Jan Bruegel. This is an oil painting of an arrangement of flowers in a modest clay pot. The flowers are extremely voluptuous and bountiful in comparison to the small vase. The flowers take up the majority of the SPACE of the painting, displaying their importance and the ideal that nature is plentiful with beauty. The artist used COLOR in a layering effect of the flower-he used mostly blue, red, and darker yellow flowers in the back so that they can be seen threw the mostly lighter colored flowers in the forefront of the arrangement. This adds to the density and volume of the bouquet. The clay pot, wild flowers, and slugs and bugs all add to the natural and organic feel of the painting. Each flower is painted so intricately and with extreme detail despite the incredible volume of flowers. This attention to detail of each individual flower displays the artist’s appreciation and admiration of the beauty of nature and flowers in particular. This is also evident in the way the artist used LIGHT to bring to life the flowers and really capture their vividness, but yet the gold coins and jewelry in the corner is dull in comparison. This painting is a great example of how the idealistic of nature are displayed in artwork.…

There's a woman in a gown kissing Walt. What is this? A wedding probably, the flower petals and beads, it all makes sense now. “Walt, can we go home now, please?” He looks at me like I'm crazy. “Helen, baby, go home without me. I'll be there later to tell mom and pops the news” he says patting my shoulder. “No Walt! That's not what's going to happen… you need to come home with me. Mama wouldn't be happy if I walked home alone.” He takes my hand and guides me outside. “Helen! Quit, I’m leaving. I’m not coming home, I’m married and we’re moving in together” Walt says. I’m officially broken hearted. He wouldn't really leave us, would…
