Strategic planning is essential in the sustainability of all healthcare organizations. Outline the processes, or steps, involved in the strategic planning process and continual monitoring of the internal and external environment. Discuss how strategic planning is a dynamic, verses linear, process. Why is this important? What roles, if any, do quality and information technology play in an organization's strategic direction? Use one scholarly reference, cited according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center, in addition to the textbook.
According to the text Strategic planning is having a future goals that are planned for an organization. The strategic planning emphasizes on the task, activities, having resources, commitment, channel of authority and the responsibility and roles that will be assigned. Refining strategic plan needs to have a focus for what and where you want to achieve and accomplish. (Buchbinder & Shank,2011). Having the resources to implement the plan is very critical example the resources such as training to accomplish a task. The success of a strategic plan also depends on the type of communication that exists when dealing with employees and correcting major flaws or disagreements. What plans are in place for that? The structures to create a channels for the organization, solving problems at supervisor, manager level before reaching to the head or leader. Also assigning responsibilities to those who are qualified and accountable to take on the program, staff for long and short term goals of the plan. The external and internal environment will help to move the plan to where it needs to be for the present and the future goals. Changing in healthcare technology as in equipment used for out and inpatient surgery, new medicine or update ones. Internal environment will use the strength to motivate and accomplish what is needed for the success (Booz & co, 2012). The dynamic plan would be best suited because it encompassed many different ways to deal with problems and changes over time and has plans for solving them. The linear process only has a plan for everything changes for present to future. Reference
