ASHANK DESAI-PGP 1979, IIM –A

Ashank, Ketan,Wasan & Sundar, the four IIM –A grads has passion to do something of their own. Its moreover as same as in college people forms their own band group. Ashank has a moral bond with Godrej company to go back and work for , after MBA. The other friends also joined the companies after getting their MBA but they never let the spark inside them to get down.
Godrej has given Ashank a flat to live in, which in fact Ashank is thankful since it helped all four of the friends to work together. Their neighbor also complained saying that what you all people do for whole nights. Later on, they came up with the idea of opening up an IT firm which will provide business solutions to companies across. Ketan’s two bed room flat at Ghatkopar,
Mumbai was the place from where they first started operating. Later on moved to Nariman Point at Mittal Towers. They struggled for the first six years since they were not performing but the motivation and inspiration from their family members helped them to stay tuned up. They got their first assignment from Proctor & Gamble, and they really did well by providing th e best solution across to them. The first person who joined their group as board member was the one who was working earlier for Rediffusion. The person was highly impressed with style of work which they did. Although, there were many clients throughout the journey of 30 years of buying the firm but Ashank believe that we are enough to run the business. The company lacked export business which they overcome by an incident in which one of his cousins asks them for a solution abroad. From there, the journey starts for exporting and profits. They were very well focused in IT solutions rather than size like other IT giants. Mastek 60 % of their balance sheet is liquid. And by the end of year
