The Kaspil life is a long road to putting yourself into another man’s life. We have spent the past 3 months learning and and understanding the life of a man, who happens to be our national hero. In my whole Kaspil experience, I was able to link myself to our national hero. I never thought I would have such a connection. Before, he was just someone I had to know because of school. But now, I am truly grateful that I have met the true Jose Rizal. Through the Kaspil experience, I have bonded with our national hero. I have truly related myself to him because, his problems may be of the extremities, but we shared the same problems. The nature of our dilemmas was the same. Like being stuck in the middle, and not being able to have the freedom to choose or decide for you. Like being held against your will because you’re trying to do what is right, and trying to correct what is wrong. Rizal made me see what is truly important in life, and what we should really value in our existence. I bow down to our national hero. He was not anxious to die in cold blood. He was anxious to matter. He was anxious to touch people’s lives and make a change. He saved us Filipinos from being bullied and earned us our freedom through his death. They say, there’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer. Well I say, there’s nothing stronger than Rizal’s heart. The heart of a true hero, that Rizal really owns. I am truly grateful to have received this gift of really learning about our national hero and touched my life to put the things I’ve learned in real life. Basically, my Kaspil experience was like being in a session with a psychologist. I’ve got so many life advices just by listening, understanding, and appreciating another man’s life. This experience was more than just learning. It was a mode of entertainment as well. I can truly claim that I am now a well-formed person because of this opportunity that I was given the opportunity to learn and experience the life of Jose Rizal
In this term, i learned some basic information about Rizal like he was born in Calamba Laguna, he studied in Ateneo Municipal de Manila and he was shot as Fort Santiago at the age of 30. For me, those are things that we should know since he's our hero but what's important to me is that we know is for us to be able to know the things that he have done and sacrificed for us. . Jose Rizal can be considered as a genius. He speaks several languages and was very eloquent, he wrote El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere, which paved the way for a Filipino uprising against Spain. Aparently, the Philippines did not gain freedom from the Spaniards. These books are one of the famous writings of Rizal and are obviously one of the most commonly known Filipino books and writings in the Philippines. The first was an expose on Spanish inequities in the country which had helped fire the Philippine revolution. The second was a narrative on how a native plans a revolution against the oppressors in the country. While his death may appear to have been his greatest contribution, it was only the result of his writing the two novels. He taught the Filipinos, not only in his time to be nationalistic and how everyone can be a modern hero in his simple ways, and also offered his life for the sake of the Filipino’s liberation. As someone who practices non-violence, he expressed himself through his writings, and it is has made a very great impact in our society today. Rizal showed in the book the good characteristics of a Filipino, and a wakeup call to the Filipinos to know their true values or worth and have self- confidence. The Rizal showed in the book how important education is, know how to adapt on the changes and be dedicated to the country These works look nothing to some people but the true beauties of his works appear when it is well understood and appreciated. These works are important since it shows the culture and symbolizes hope in our country not only in times of need but also shows a way on how we can more improve by reflecting on the things that we do for our country. Rizal taught us to be nationalistic by loving our country, fighting for our country's freedom, giving importance to education finding knowledge that will bring power to gain prestige and value our own cultures, traditions and beliefs
