Many people still argue over whether Stonehenge was a worshiping sight or a means to tell an eclipse. There is evidence that can prove both theories right.…

The Island of Britain, home to the British Empire, was not always a major player on the world stage. In truth, until the Roman conquest, the inhabitants of the island were considered to be culturally backward. Bronze Age Britain is a far cry from the world power it is today, and is surprisingly understudied. However, despite the neglect of our modern world towards the pre-roman history of the island, there is one monument that has grabbed our attention, Stonehenge. This monument has served as a constant reminder to the world that there is a pre-roman Britain. But, because of the understudied nature of Bronze Age Britain, Stonehenge is possibly shrouded in more myth and lore than any other monumental structure in the world. The other monuments are awe-inspiring in the same way as Stonehenge, but Stonehenge is shrouded in mystery. And that is the magic of the monument. It could be anything, made…

The construction of Stonehenge is believed to have been created in a series of three different phases that took place over 5,000 years ago. Archeologists believe, “that the stones that still stand today may have been put in place about 4,000 years ago.” It is believed that the first phase was carried out during the Neolithic or the “stone age” era in which the early farmers used prehistoric ingenuity to cultivate and construct the outer circle or “ditch” of Stonehenge. The ground under Stonehenge was like a chalk type of sandstone that was easy to shovel with the primitive equipment early settlers used. Archeologists also believe that the “outer circle is 320 feet in diameter and the ditch itself was approximately 20 feet wide and 7 feet deep.”…
