IF WE ARE RELY ON TECNOLOGY As time changes season after season, we all change along with it. The way that we use to solve problems changes too. There is an idea, that caused by using technology , 'as people rely more and more on technology to solve problems. The ability of human to think for themselves will surely deteriorate' Of course, there are people who agree and who disagree with this idea. Personally, I agree with this idea. Hence, in the following content, it will mention about the reason of people who agree and who disagree include my opinion. To start with the reason of people who disagree with the idea that technology deteriorates the ability of human to think for themselves. They claim that they still are able to think for themselves. They use technology just for convenience and benefit, which are saving time, saving money, and getting accurate result. For example, GPS technology can help them reach the destination directly. They will spend left time to do another thing like visiting tourist attraction. Besides, They will use less fuel because of using the shortest way and they will spend less money because of saving fuel. However, without GPS technology, they say they could figure out what to do next such as using the map or asking local people for the direction. It means they still can think for themselves to get out of trouble. Regarding to the reasons above, they believe that technology cannot deteriorate the ability of human to think for themselves. Here are reasons why people agree with the idea of technology deteriorates the ability of human to think for themselves. Firstly, people too much rely on ,what people in the internet say. Thus, when the time comes they probably cannot solve problem themselves because they lack of consideration and thinking process. And, this can be called losing self-reason. Moreover, what technology can get us into the trouble. For example, GPS give us the shortest the direction but the way is too rough and too

Technology promotes anti-intellectualism. The extent of these effects vary, but technology poses many negative results. Growing up, with technology surrounding us, everyone becomes impacted by technology in some way or another. Since my generation has been born, email, cell phones, and TV has consumed a great deal of our lives. Not knowing much differently, many young people fall into the anti-intellectual category when it comes to technology. They tend to live off the ideas of others and not pursue them on their own (do I need to quote this?). A great number of people become lazy and turn to the internet whenever they need instant answers to their questions instead of finding other ways to answer them. People’s daily routines consist of checking social media several times throughout the day. With technology in such…

The technology that surrounds us is changing the way we think. Humans have been influenced by our technology since the dawn of civilization. Now, it is the Information age that has created a new kind of human intelligence, a change in our thinking worthy of great enthusiasm and intense scrutiny. It seems like the majority of people believe the Internet and new media has diminished our memory, our creativity, and our intelligence. There is even research into the neurological effects of using Google. But every new innovation, from the written word to the telegraph, has triggered the very same fears. We fear that life will never be the same, that our culture is fading, and our intelligence eroding. But just as we did in the past, we have adapted. We are learning to use our new technology in unpredictable ways. It is through the use of modern technology that we now learn more and retain it longer, and we write and think…

Technology has shaped and defined human activity and it has made life easier but more dangerous. As Langdon Winner explains in his piece, Technological Somnambulism, technology is a neutral tool. It can be used in a positive or a negative way. As well, Modern technology can be dangerous in many different ways. As more technology becomes available to the public, more people rely on it. This could be a problem; for example when many people want to figure something out, they will probably just type the question into Google. Technology allows us to think less about certain things, which may be easier but it “dumbs us down”. This could be considered dangerous because we may rely on technology too much and we could become lazy with our everyday rituals. With that said, technology has also helped us improve medicine and science to help cure certain diseases. Without these improvements we wouldn’t be as strong as a community. There seems to always be positive and negative things that come with technology.…

With the development of technology, there are endless numbers of convenient tools and machines that help us to deal with the daily tasks. I can do everything just with my finger clicking the buttons on the machines. I wash clothes with laundry machines, wash dishes with the dishwasher, and clean the floor with the high-tech vacuum. However, technology is slowly replacing human intelligence. When technology is not as widespread as now, I usually visit the library, look through books and articles to search for answer to the question. With the advanced technology, people no longer need to think, they could just type the question and the internet will immediately provide the answer for you. Thinking is no longer the patent for us. Since technology can do all the things for me, I become lazy physically and…

To understand the characteristics of humans and technology it is important to define their interpretation and some researchers’ concept of the subjects to see if there is any overlap between the two. Vaknin, (2002) describes that a human being shows behavioural unpredictability, and can rationalise decisions based on moral judgment. Humans use basic survival instinct to evolve by manipulating their social and physical environment i.e. technology, which will be one of the points covered in this paper. Suggesting that humans have qualities to show they are still in control of their own destiny. One of humanities strengths is they are aware of their own mortality, backed up with the expression of free will. In contrast to Selinsky (2011) who believes that the human body is a technology itself and a multidimensional self-building, self-making machine when the ‘machine’ (our body) gets out of balance. Whose view is human and technology are one that has the ability to adapt, learn and build on itself. An opinion seconded by Kurzweil, (2008) who has the perception that switching machine off replicating human intelligence implies forms of…
