Using a variety of research methods write an in depth account about the different types of communication as found in Chapter 2 –Communication in Care settings. This must include strengths and weaknesses and examples of how they can be used in any Health and Social care context.

Task 2 (AO1)

Discuss how communication could be enhanced (improved) and inhibited (prevent) by the following; Positioning All emotional factors listed (each factor to be discussed individually) All environmental conditions listed (each factor to be discussed individually)
For each type of communication listed you must also describe in detail how effective communication can make a service user feel valued.

Use at least two examples for how each type of communication can be used in the context of a residential home for teenagers in care.

Please use care values where applicable to illustrate your point.

Task 1 (AO2)

Using four different communication skills write a detailed account that includes the following: An in depth account of what is involved in each communication skill

Give reasons why you have chosen the 4 communication skills in relation to a care worker who works in a residential home for teenagers in care.

Give examples of how these communication skills are used to make service users feel valued and supported and how they apply the care values when using the communication skills you have chosen.

Task 1 (A03)

Using at least three different sources of information, research the two following theories of communication and please ensure the following points are covered and included in this piece of writing

Tuckman’s sequential theory of group formation information to be included:

A detailed description of what the theory involves.

A detailed explanation of how the theory gives guidance on effective communication.

How each theory can be used in the residential setting mentioned in AO1 with a reference to care values.

A detailed description of the effects the theory has on service users in a residential home and care workers in a residential home when being used and not being used.
