8. What are some examples of toxic chemicals that may enter the public water supply? Describe some of the health effects that are attributed to the toxic chemicals present in drinking water. Water contains many of the nutrients that make us healthy and keep us alive. Unfortunately, some chemicals in water are also dangerous. Most of these excess chemicals in water are “runoffs”, or leftover human materials. Below are some examples of toxic chemicals that may enter the water supply.
• Aluminum – people exposed to high level can be subject to Alzheimer’s disease. Also, by adding aluminum to drinking water it can help removing parasites such as E. coli.
• Arsenic- Arsenic has been linked to cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin, kidney, nasal
