The very first arms race took place when france and russia challenged britain in the late nineteenth century. The arms race is a very competitive of an increase of quality or quantity. Between the year of 1945 , the united states dropped two atomic bombs on japan to end world one II. All of these events started in 1945 when the united states dropped the first atomic bomb on july 16 in alamogordo New Mexico. The United States also Dropped nuclear bombs. When that had happened it led to the russians producing an H-Bomb in 1953 and then it wasn't a safe place to live anymore because of so much damage. The whole point of the arms race was just not to try to kill everyone but it was an competitive and serious situation. During the year of of 1945 which was the end of WWII the United States was the sole of atomic power in in the world. The United states refused to give up the secret bom and by 1949 the Soviet union had created their own bomb. The united states leaders decided to rely more on nuclear weapons for defense other than creating their own military voice. Both the United States and the Soviet union hanged their military and people but the United States had more nuclear power they had more weapons and the Soviet Union did not. “If the United States and Soviet Union went into a nuclear war then that will be an horrible destruction” exclaimed (Faunter). Although people think that the arms race was just an war it was not it was a race between two countries known as The United States and The Soviet Union to see who could get the most weapons. There were at least 4 reason to cause the arms race to happen known as “mistrust” , “hiroshima bombing” , “competitive nature” and “power”.
