Arming Law-Abiding Theory
A huge factor that played in the passing of these laws was that law-abiding citizens should be permitted to protect themselves in various situations. Concealed carry would be a deterrent effect upon criminals who came across an armed victim. Victims who carried concealed weapons may increase the level of risk that the criminal is taking.
While pro gun legislation has gained momentum, it has also created controversy. The pro gun population advocates that arming law-abiding citizens would not only enhance self-protection, but also serve to lower the crime rate by deterring criminal activity.
Rational choice theory would suggest that these conditions force the criminal to weigh the probabilities of success in committing crime against the probability
