Arlena Lindley Case Study
I wish to apply to your Law LLB course due to having a keen interest in said subject over the past few years. One of my favourite cases to marvel over is the Arlena Lindley case which is about a woman who endured domestic violence and faced 45 years in prison for her partner murdering her child due to American ‘Failure-to-Protect’ laws which focus on child negligence and child abuse. I have the attributes necessary for your Law LLB course, such as logical reasoning and persuasiveness, placing my views forward yet not dictating whether they are right or wrong. I believe that I have a very open mind when concerning injustice and others opinions taking in to consideration the other side of the argument, but always sticking to what I believe is …show more content…
I would excel in this subject as it stands as something with countless complexities in which I would find a challenge, forcing me to push myself that one step further. Holding a keen interest in law, especially criminal, will also assist my learning. At A-Level I have had the chance to study three compelling subjects, two of which being directly related to Law, both History and Sociology. Sociology provides me with knowledge of the current society and the laws in place in each different place and History showing that many laws created decades – even centuries – ago are still in place and influence how our society functions today. The subject of English providing me with the skills to create a compelling case, having taught me skills necessary to write reports and analytics. This course excites me to join due to the need to use my persuasiveness, which I believe to be a strong suit of mine, along with possessing the ability to argue my case without the need to become aggressive or rude. Being enthusiastic about things that interest me is also one of my strong
