So, your beloved Dalmatian , Specs has passed away. You and your family loved him dearly. If only there was a way he could come back. Well, you could clone him… but is it really worth $100,000 for a replica that is actually completely different from Specs? You have to admit that even though cloning your pet might work out just fine, but beware. There could be serious consequences, and the clones personality, and state of health might be completely different. Even though cloning your pet may relieve some grief and be a real option for undecided families. I strongly believe that cloning can cause fatal consequences and the results may turn out to be the total opposite "replica" from your deceased pet.

Cloned animals suffer serious health problems and often die from operations and periods of growth. Pet cloning also involves the invasive use of several other animals in laboratories who are being used as 'surrogate mothers.' General practitioner veterinarians have no training or knowledge to treat affected genetically manipulated clones. Cloning cats and dogs will exacerbate the already severe and costly companion animal overpopulation problem in the United States. So instead, try seeking an animal at a nearby shelter resembling your own companion. Visit a local shelter or search on a website for animals who fit your desired profile. You can make a difference in that animals life, and build a strong loving relationship that will last a lifetime... creating amazing adventures and discovering what could be in store for you by loving a new

Danielle Tarantola wasn't ready to let her dog, Trouble, go. So she contacted the only legitimate company in the world that will commercially clone an owner's dog, RNL bio. RNL bio is a company out of South Korea run by Lee Byeong-chun, notable only because he was a former colleague of Hwang Woo-Suk, who was considered a pioneer in the field of stem cell research until he was infamously outed by the scientific community after several of his experiments were found to be fabricated. The typical rate charged by the company to clone one's beloved pet is a rather hefty $100,000. Tarantola, however, was offered a 50% reduced rate due to the free advertisement that would be offered by her (then) upcoming appearance on TLC's hour long special, “I Cloned My Pet”.…

There are some positives to cloning but only therapeutic cloning when it is used to replicate cells. Therapeutic cloning produces embryonic stem cells for creating tissues to replace injured or diseased tissues(3). This can be used to cure people not harm them. Artificial cloning can be good for the studies and discoveries that have been made but otherwise the animals that die are not helping anyone.…

Dog cloning offered to the general public has two faces according to with Rob Stein in his article “Cloning Your Dog, For A Mere $100.000” that was published by NPR News the last year. The material shows the both sides of the problem using as reference a particular case of a dog cloned by an American couple and declarations of a bioethicist of Case Western Reserve University, so these provide strong points to each part. Thus, for the dogs’ owners side, the article expose feelings and sentimental experiences lived by the couple Dupont, which show a spiritual wellbeing developed because of a special vinculum between the pet and them. The most relevant thing written about the Duponts is that they think that all the “sacrifices” that involves the…

Let's just say if a clone survives birth and it’s childhood and had Large Offspring Syndrome, If all of the conditions like cardiomyopathy diabetes, high rates of heart and lung damage, kidney failure brain abnormalities etc. The animal in labor and the clone is give birth in a filthy Barn house. In that scenario the clone animal that is giving birth, percentage of life is one in million. Another reason that cloning should not be in society is the lack of diversity. “Cloning involves a process of creating identical genes. As such, there would be a lack of diversity in animalkind. Scientists believe this lack of diversity will lower the different animal race’s ability to adapt. Plus, there would be a lack of diversity in the world leading to everyone looking the same.…

Many people argue whether cloning is unethical or if through genetics the life span of a person may be improved. Human cloning creates questions about the soul, the role of god in society, and even the quality of life that a cloned person would have (Health Research Funding). Cloning is a number of different processes that produce identical copies of DNA. There are three different types of cloning: gene cloning, reproductive cloning, and therapeutic cloning. Gene cloning is the process where copies of genes or segments of DNA. Reproductive cloning is a copy of animals. Therapeutic cloning is embryonic stem cells for experiments to replace injuries or diseased cells. Cloning can be used for many reasons such as medical research, endangered or extinct species could be recreated, reproducing a loved pet that is deceased, cloning livestock for a higher quality milk or meat, and also…

There are many opinions that different from both sides of going for and against animal cloning. Jacqueline Langwith writes, “Some people don't like cloning because they do not like the idea of recreating an animal or species” (Langwith). Although her statement provides a rationale why certain people may not like this process, they do not understand that animal cloning is not hurting the species. Cloning is saving species. Therefore, animal cloning should be legalized. Cloning can save endangered species, researchers can use animal clones for a food source, and researchers can study organs and tissues from clones.…

Cloning is useful on a bacterial level for doing all sorts of science related to DNA. Bacterial clone libraries are kept with every gene we find. Cloning on a larger scale would allow us to produce an organ transplant without worry of rejection from the host. Whole animal cloning is only useful for people who want the same looking pet they had that died or maybe you had a good steak and you wanted to clone that cow. The possible impact of cloning is improving the overall standards human beings. Cloning will do a lot for medical research. It will also challenge people’s ideas about life and about themselves. Disadvantage of the use of cloning are adding clones to the population would make things worse, world would eventually explode. Benefits of the use of cloning such as medical emergencies for an example if someone needed a heart or someone needed something donated or replaced. Cloned genes are also used to produce drugs, insulin, clotting factors, human growth hormone, and industrial enzymes. In 1952 scientists transferred a cell from a frog embryo into an unfertilized egg, which then developed into a…

The process of cloning has remained one of the most controversial topics as debates continue about the pros and cons of Cloning. Cloning which is the process of duplicating DNA or living stem cells can be dated back to over 200 years ago. The two most common types of cloning are Therapeutic Cloning and Reproductive Cloning. Therapeutic cloning is a process that specifies the use of cloning stem cells for the treatment of an illness or disability (Ham, 2007). Reproductive Cloning involves inserting a cell into a host but uses donated embryos to harvest stem cells that can be converted into almost any type of cell needed (Ham, 2007). Many arguments are being posed by scientists, pro-life representatives, medical researchers and religious followers about why the practice of cloning should be allowed or banned with all parties making strong points on either side. Today there is a great amount of experimenting and cloning tests being conducted on animals. The United States government has suppressed support for human cloning practices (Bush, 2002). This report will elaborate on the different views from the pro and con side of cloning and provide a realistic synthesis and a conclusive resolution for the practices surrounding the cloning process.…

By being able to clone living organism, we can help endangered species such as tigers and many other nearly extinct animals from being wiped from the face of earth. The idea does not stop there. In the future meat supplies and food sources will become scarce because of the population expanding and insufficiency of land to farm or breed. Therefore, with the technology of cloning, humans can clone essential and necessary…
