Gun control is an extremely debated issue in today's society. The majority supports high gun control laws, but they will never work. From the precedent, gun control laws have actually given rise to homicide and increased the crime rate. Most criminals do not get their firearms from gun stores or pawnshops. They either borrow them, or steal them. Only about one-sixth legally bought firearms are being used for criminal activity. Our goal should not be to reduce the carry of firearms, but put an end to them being carried by criminals.…
All in all, it is not a good choice for American society at the present stage to ban gun. From the constitutional view, Gun Ban is contrary to the constitution of human rights and protection spirit; from the political view, it will increase the risk of tyranny; from the economic view, it will lead criminal squares to become one of the guns of the monopolist; from the social reality view, it leads to the lack of citizen means of self-defense; finally, from social culture view, it does not conform to the American culture tradition and social psychology. I think the key to the problem of gun crime is not the gun itself, but the deep problems of the society, such as poverty, social life and so on. I think gun control is just a…
So, I believe that Americans should be able to own guns and not have their 2nd amendment infringed upon because the 2nd amendment says “ The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This implies that the people of the U.S can have weapons to defend themselves and no further. Now obviously there is flaws to this as there is criminals that use weapons for horrible acts, but we have people that own guns to protect themselves from the criminals in which case a weapon is used in self defence and not to commit an act of crime. As well as people who use them to protect themselves it is also not meant to kill the gun for example is something that doesn’t kill the user of the…
This world is a scary place. Having a concealed weapon offers you a protection you would otherwise have to wait according to Peoria pd on average 6.7 minutes. When there is an emergency we don’t always have the time we need in order to wait for professionals to arrive. Much like CPR, we train ordinary people to give CPR so we can keep someone alive while waiting for professionals. We need trained ordinary people to help and give us that little bit of extra time.…
Approximately 30,000 people die a year because of guns when they are used in both self defense and murder. Many people argue whether restrictions on guns should be enacted or repealed. Tensions have grown high on both sides of the issue making it a hot topic in our country today. Many people cast their votes in the last election based on their feelings about this very issue. The divide among Americans when it comes to gun control is large, spanning from those who want strict regulation, including an outright ban on all firearms, to those who want complete legalization of individual gun ownership. Guns can be used for killing or protection, so it is important to examine all…
The debate over Gun control has taken front and center in recent news head-lines. The communities and families whose lives have been effected by gun violence are speaking out. In an article titled “Newtown Open eyes to other gun violence against young people” Sarah Hoye explores how every day gun violence effects inner cities like Philadelphia on a daily basis. “Scott Charles walks briskly across a hospital lobby toward a group of high school students waiting to meet him. "Welcome," he said, panning their faces, "I work with gunshot patients. How many of you know somebody who's been shot?" Hands spring up into…
I believe that control on firearms will reduce crime. But I don't believe in taking away firearms from law abiding citizens is the answer to gun control. We need more regulations put into place on who, when, how and where guns can be purchased. I don't believe you should be able to go to a weekend rinky dink gun show and be able to walk out with a weapon regardless of make or caliber. I think that you should not be allowed to legally buy a firearm, or any accessory for said firearm until the age of 21. Pawn shops and places like Walmart should not be allowed to sell firearms above a certain caliber, or semi autos. Bolt action rifles, shot guns and revolvers would be fine at sporting good stores and such. Specialized weapons such as semi autos like the Ak-47 or Ar-15 should only be sold by authorized stores and retailers.…
If we enacted more gun control laws then there wouldn't be as much problems. Gun shootings are the main reason why the kill rate is going up. That being the main cause is just something we need to stop. Gun laws are causes of violent crime in the world and it must need to be changed for people to buy guns easier to protect themselves.Gun control will help everyone in the world because it would make the world way safer. If there were more gun control laws enacted the world would be a safer place because more gun control laws would reduce gun deaths. Guns are rarely used in self defense and The presence of a gun makes a conflict more likely to become violent.…
Instead of focusing on the amount of deaths cause by gun control, we should focus on the real problem which is violence in the U.S. According to lafa.org,”” Criminologists cite FBI statistics that teenagers committed twice as many assaults without a weapon”. This explains how violence is a greater issue rather then trying to restrict rights given to us by the 2nd Amendment. Overall, violence should be a problem burdened on people rather then inanimate…
All guns have the potential to be dangerous and should be dealt with precaution. Guns have been a part of American history for as long as people can remember. For most individuals guns are supposed to be very dangerous and unsafe. Though, that is not true. Guns can be hazardous, but only if they are in the wrong hands. Owning a gun is a right that every American should take pride in having. Guns are used for self-protection, hunting, law enforcement and other practices. The right to own a gun is secured by the 2nd constitutional amendment. So, prohibition of guns from being owned or bought is immoral and unconstitutional. Gun control in the United States should be eliminated.…
“All guns are evil.” What a load of crap. For all the people that are against guns seem to have a lot of guns around them with other people holding them and protecting them. I really don’t understand why people in the position that could make a difference are trying to take away guns from the people that actually would use them for protecting their family and themselves. Trying to understand how stupid people think huts my brain. I’m sure there could be another alternative to getting the guns off the street that are not registered by gun owners. Those are the ones that are creating chaos.…
One of the biggest controversial topics in America today is Gun Control, whether we should or should not have gun control. The Government claims that if they take the guns away, that there will be a drop in deaths and crimes. The Second Amendment state that every citizen of the United States of America has a right to bare arms(ProCon#1). The Gun Control Law will take away that right completely, along with some of our freedom. If the Gun Control Law is enforced in the United States, our hunting right will be removed, our self-defense right will be taken away, and it will amplify the problem.…
The main reasons that we need to enforce a more strict gun control is because of the number of firearm-related homicides in the US, and the danger that guns propose, as they are easily available to children in homes, teenagers on the streets, convicted criminals, and mentally unstable citizens.…
If gun control is altered, then we will have less criminals roaming the streets. Access to firearms makes murder easy, efficient, and nonpersonal, which increases the chance a crime will be committed. Josh Sugarmann, the Executive Director of the Violence Policy Center has once said, "We recoil in horror and search for explanations, but we never face up to the obvious preventive measure: a ban on the easy killing machines that makes murder and robbery so easy.” Allowing uncertified people to carry guns puts all others at risk and it can result in self-harming injuries caused by unintentional accidents, in which the worst case scenario can end with one or more people involved dead. Gun violence in America kills more than 30,000 and injures almost 70,000 each year. Firearms can be misused and abused, which is why gun control is a necessity. Gun control is government regulation of the manufacture, sale, and possession of firearms. Gun control can limit the access of criminals getting their hands on firearms, which will lead to the decrease of violent crime.…
Tragic loses are occurring in the U.S. daily that involve guns. From using the most recent data, approximately 33,473 hearts have stopped working because of gun use. If gun control laws were more effective, this number would be plentiful lower. While some may argue that guns don’t kill people, but people kill people. Therefore, people are the cause of the deaths although they used guns. However, with stricter laws for gun use, those killers would find it much more difficult to get a hold of a gun and approach the victim. The result of that would include a decrease in the annual amount of deaths. A harsher gun control law does not have much negatives, in fact it will just save many more lives.…
