Argumentative Essay: The Decision To Go To Indiana
Choosing between two things can be a difficult decision. Especially if it something you are seeing/ doing for the first time. For example, My brothers and I are going to see a band none of us have seen before, and we cannot choose between two locations for the concert. The two choices are to stay in Michigan or go to Indiana.
One thing most people think about concerts are the costs of the tickets or how much money they will spend. If I went the Michigan concert, I would spend less money than I would if I were to go to Indiana. This reason, is because the tickets will be 40% cheaper, and I wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel room. The location of the concert is three hours away, and we would like the road trip away from home, but that

Most concerts are way better in a good size venue. The concert in Michigan has a smaller venue, and there will probably be more packed than the one in Indiana. The venue in Indiana will be larger and more room for the people that come to see the band play live. If we go to a smaller venue than the closer we would closer be in the band. But if we go to a bigger venue then we would have a better view of the band. I would like to see the band while they play, and not the back of people's heads. It is important to realize that weather will be a key problem in our case. One reason is if we stay in Michigan it might be colder, and more rainy. The concert in Michigan takes place April 27th, and the month April in Michigan can be bipolar. If people have to stand in line waiting to enter the building, then the weather should be nice. It should not be cold or rainy. If we go to the one in Indiana, then it would most likely be a beautiful day in July.
Final problem for this decision, is the fact we might be going on a different vacation the same time the Indiana concert. We usually go camping around the end of June and the beginning of July, and near the beginning of the July is the concert. If we do go to the Michigan concert, then there is a 100% chance of going, and there is a 60% chance to go to

    3. Describe the concert venue and where you sat (i.e.: balcony): I took my twelve-year-old stepdaughter with me and we stood out side for about five minutes waiting in line to purchase tickets. Upon entering Pope Joy Hall, we were greeted by an information booth that was filled with flyers and pamphlets and programs to all different venues of art, from orchestras to plays. Lindsey asked me wide eyed; do all these things mean that this is what is showing or playing here? I looked at her and smiled and replied, yes this is Pope Joy Hall, UNM Center for the Arts and they have a variety of things going on all the time. We grabbed some information on what we would like to come and see and headed to the first theater on the left. We walked up to the entrance doors to the theater and were greeted by two very friendly greeters, who handed us our programs. Then, we entered the double doors and were greeted by an eager usher who politely guided us through hand and arm gestures to go down the left isle. Therefore, Lindsey and I sat together in the lower level on the left side middle end row seats. Once seated, I realized…

However their biggest concert is coming up on December 13th, called Crazy For Christmas. It’s not a Christmas concert really, but it’s more of a holiday concert, although they don’t play any Christmas music, it’s all mostly their new songs and some of their old songs. The concert is being held at Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The concert isn’t by seats it’s a first come first serve sort of thing. Regular tickets add up to about 36 dollars. However they also had VIP tickets, and only 5 platinum tickets. The VIP was also very limited because they were sold out in the first 10 minutes. There are still regular tickets available but they are almost sold out. Kalin, Myles and Jake also have another close friend Tyler Garcia, or Ty. He is the one who shoots them and all of their music videos and is really close with them. Everyone…

The first thing I notice about the concert was the setting, which shows a lot about the band and the type of music they will be playing. Gungor is a famous band that travels often. Instead of having their concert in the gym of the university the concert was held in the White Auditorium. I believe the venue was intentional and what the two artists wanted. The…

When listening and watching live performances, the venue is almost as important as the music itself. The venue that the Charles Mingus Tribute played at the night I saw them was a restaurant and bar called Stayner’s Wharf. I had been there before, but in the middle of the day with no live music. The change I saw in atmosphere from that first time I experienced the restaurant to the second was tremendous. A tucked away stage with six musicians squished onto it all playing their hearts out transformed the boring restaurant into something so much more alive. The venue was a little odd because it wasn’t positioned around the players, so many people couldn’t see the stage from their tables or stools. However, even if you…

Because the jury issues but a mere advisory opinion and not binding upon the court, Florida’s sentencing scheme must be unconstitutional. Florida’s statute requires that a court imposing the death sentence must make a written, detailed finding. This detailed account—not the jury’s verdict—that furnishes the basis for the Supreme Court of Florida’s review. Respondent’s rely on Hildwin (1989 case that permits the judge to find aggravating circumstances that authorize the death sentence) because it has not been expressly overruled. The ideas and principles in Hildwin were thrown out with Walton, clarified in Ring, and expressly overrule today.…

For this assignment I chose to compare and contrast two concerts. The first concert is from the modern era, while the other is a Baroque Era concert originating from the 17th Century preformed by a modern day orchestra. The Baroque Era Concert takes place in a large modern day Lutheran Church in front of a small crowd of well dressed onlookers. The second concert that I chose for this assignment is a modern day rock concert from the English Symphonic Rock Band, Muse. This concert takes place at the O2 Sheppard’s Bush Empire Theatre in London, England. The crowd is large and ruckus, the concert is loud, bright, and energetic.…

One of the biggest things that set him apart from other artists is his tour ticket price. In attempt to give fans some breathing room financially at the box office, in 2013 he began his “Best Night Ever” tour and capped ticket prices at $20.00 each, including parking. Other artists and promoters thought this concept was crazy and there was no way he could make money that way. He risked a pay cut of $100,000 per night. Logan, of the advocacy group Fans First Coalition said, “Clearly, he has a large blue-collar fan base, salt of the earth. Twenty dollars really speaks to them.” By running with this new innovation, Kid Rock managed to draw in new fans, and coax old ones back into the fold (McCollum). Kid Rock had so much success on his 2013 tour, he decided to do another summer tour in 2015 and he brought Foreigner along with him. First Kiss: Cheap Date Summer Tour sold over 650,000 tickets over 40 shows (About – Kid Rock). With such high demand, people were buying tickets in bulk and reselling them on average for about $142.21 to $238.00 each depending on venue (Lawrence). In attempt to knock secondary market profits, he put on a record breaking 10 shows at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. He wanted to ensure fans had a chance to see him live in concert at an affordable price. Not only were the ticket prices low, but also merchandise was sold for no more than $20.00 and fans could enjoy a…

This reason is because the lower class man in band don't have their license and they may not have a ride to show up. Most kids parents work until about 6 and most concessions start before that. If someone's house is too far out in the country or if they live in Preble it may be harder on the parents and kids to get there are back from concessions.…

Two concerts I attended this semester were Steve Aoki and Datsik and “The Brown Bag Series.” Although two completely different music styles, they were both fun to attend and interesting to think about when considering their musical elements. Steve Aoki is an American electro house musician, record producer and founder of Dim Mak Record. Datsik is a Dubstep DJ and music producer from British Columbia, Canada. “The Brown Bag Series” was an instrumental concert consisting of six people, one being Professor Golove, who played instruments such as the cello, the double bass, and the piano.…

On March 16th I attend the Rocky Rock Band and Reason concert at Losekamp at Rocky Mountain College. I had a rollercoaster of a night listening to the tunes of The Rocky Rock Band and Reason. The crowd was slightly small, but very enthusiastic. The setting had a very cool feel with the awesome lighting and they stage was set up very well. One other very wonderful aspect of the night was the free food that was a very nice touch. I was not too sure about how the concert was going to go. I have never heard a rock band nor have I heard a rapper in person. I was actually slightly excited to be able to see one in person.…
