Despite the risks of injury,
Dodgeball- A game in which two teams launch inflated balls at each other until you or the opposing team is fully out. The definition says it all. Dodgeball should be banned because this “activity” hurts kids physically and mentally. Banning dodgeball will end a lot of bad things.…
After Reading Scott Fujita’s article “Would I let My Son Play Football”, I would still allow my son to play football because it is sport that will make someone better at mostly all aspects of life.…
Would I Let My Son Play Football? My answer is yes, but at the same time there are plenty of risk that come with this decision. There are plenty of many cases where a student was injured playing this sport, but I would still let my son play football. In Scott Fujita’s “Would I Let My Son Play Football” he gives us plenty of insight on football and the injuries that can occur at any given moment. I’m very aware of all the downfalls that come with football, but there all lots of plusses that are not usually never broadcasted.…
The Dallas Cowboys finished last year season with a 12-4 record. Almost coming out of Training Camp without any major injuries to a key player’s defensive back Orlando Scandrick tore his ACL/MCL last week. Scandrick is out for the season. Even though losing Scandrick is tough I still believe the Cowboys will be fine because they have depth at the defensive back position, and upgrading the pass rush which the defensive backs won’t have to cover wide-receivers for so long. With the additions of Greg Hardy, Byron Jones, Randy Gregory, Corey White, DeMarcus Lawrence developing his body into becoming a force at the left end, defensive position, and Tyrone Crawford is looking to have a Pro Bowl Caliber year the Cowboys finally have depth at the defensive…
"INTERCEPTION!" shouts the announcer. The game is 20-14. Your team who is losing, just intercepted the ball at your 10 yard line. There is one minute left in the fourth quarter and each team has only one time out. You are the quarter back and now have to take the ball down-field to win the game. What's your call?…

Football was putting America in a crisis when the sport first became popular (Majerol 18). Majerol reported that “In 1905, at least 18 high school and college boys died playing the sport, and more than 150 were seriously hurt” (18). Many injuries came because no protective gear was worn and the rules of the game were not strongly enforced (Majerol 18). People had played and gotten injured would suffer from concussions, broken limbs, spines (Majerol 18). The game of football was close to being banned, but former president, Theodore Roosevelt, was a fan of the game and kept football from being outlawed (Majerol 18). By time the 1870s rolled around football had been labeled as a blood sport (Majerol 18). Ordinary roughness in the sport usually…
In a perfect world the athletes we look up to would be law abiding great citizens. They'll give back to the community, do countless hours of community service, fix our schools, parks, and anything else that's asked of them. However, this is no utopia and some of our athletes are not law abiding citizens; with a few of them having multiple run-ins with the law. Being a media crazed era, we are seeing more athletes have run-ins with the law, particularly the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League. When someone does do something, instantly people form their own opinion about what a proper punishment is and it seems to point too banning players. With that being said, should the National Football…
Have you ever played football? Did you like it? Well, football is dangerous sport. Football is dangerous enough that you have to even quit football. Kids should not be able to play football, because football causes a lot of concussions, and concussion is a serious problem. Football players get serious injuries such as broken elbows. Many parents are now considering not allowing their children to play the American institution: Football. American parents are reluctant because of the risk of severe injuries to their children. More research should be completed in order to prevent high impact sports injuries that cause concussions, major brain damage such as CTE, and can sometimes result in death.…
The National Football League team in Washington has been a tire fire of a football team on the field for a long time. The team hasn’t won a playoff game in 10 years, and this origination traded up for Robert Griffin III and essentially ruined his career when they rushed him back from a knee injury and he hasn’t been the same since. One would think that with all of this being sad the team wouldn’t have a lot said about them, I mean, what’s the point the team is mediocre and they fall apart every year. This football team is one of the most talked about team for one big reason, their team name. The Washington Redskins. The debate has gone on for years, should the team get rid of the name, is it offensive to Native Americans, or does it now matter.…
Football is America’s favorite sport, with 111.9 million people watching the last Super Bowl. In a 2014 poll by Harris Polls, a whopping 35% of people called professional football their favorite sport, and 11% said college football. To put these numbers into some perspective, baseball, the next most popular, was behind professional football by 11% of the votes. So it is practically inevitable if you are a parent that your son would ask if he could play football. What should you do? Football is a violent game, with a decreasing popularity. More and more people are learning about the astounding dangers of the game. You should answer your child with a firm no if he asks you this question. Football has the highest injury rate of any sport, teaches…
