Argumentative Essay: Should Teachers Get Paid More?
Should Teachers Get Paid More? Do you think teachers should get paid more? Many students do not often think fully about this question. Is it a teacher's job to get rich? No, they concentrate on sharing knowledge with the students to make them smarter and succeed in life. For the amount of work the teachers do, it seems to be like the paychecks are not enough. Teachers should get more credit than they already do. Teaching students has got to be one of the hardest jobs in my opinion. Teachers deal with the crazy children and often parents who think their child never makes mistakes. Why should teachers get paid more? Because they went to school to learn, and hope one day they could do the same. Teachers help us students form who we are today. …show more content…
Teaching is a 24/7 job. If they aren’t at school, they are grading paper, or answering emails or something dealing with their job. Teachers don’t just wake up every morning cause it’s their job, but because they want to be able to teach others all day. Some teachers at the elementary level often find themselves using their paycheck to always keep certain supplies in the classroom. That is one of the main reasons why when we were little, buying school supplies costed our parents hundreds of dollars. Parents aren’t only paying for their child’s supplies, but also the teacher. Maybe if those teachers got paid more, school supplies would not cost so much. Do you think teaching is an easy job? Many of us would say yes, but on the other hand, it is not an easy job. Our teachers don’t just teach children, but deal with the constant nagging of parents claiming their child doesn’t get treated equally or complaining about their child’s grade. This is when a teacher’s job starts becoming difficult. Every job has it’s ups and downs, but teaching is by far the hardest job in my opinion. In conclusion, teaching can be a very difficult, but it is one of the most important jobs. Despite the horrible pay, and crazy children, teachers love their job. Therefore, the pay should be increased into more of a higher salary paying job. By increasing the pay, our teachers will live better lives and better moods which

One issue has been very common in schools, due to the lack of staff in schools, districts are hiring unprepared personnel to cover all areas of education. Many of new teachers who are inside of a classroom don not still have their credentials which includes many of part time teachers too. Every teacher should have all their credentials and training done before being hired. This, would help to dismissed little by little those poor quality teachers. Good instructors should get a higher payment than those who do not put minimum effort on their job. Although, there are concerns from part time teachers who get low annual payment from those who are full time employed. They do not agree that higher level teachers get a more generous salary than they do. Consequently, some part time teachers are a little upset because they think that is not fair, they wonder what full time teachers do, that they don't however, that is what is correct. Every individual should be waged according their education field and the quality of their…

I am aware that a teacher’s main motive is to help children get the best grades possible, but at what cost? Personally, I think teachers are being paid unjustifiably less than they deserve, but this is the corrupt system we have been brought up in. I disagree with the idea that educators are overworked and underpaid because if educating is their passion they shouldn’t care about the pay. For example, in order to become and educator, a teacher obtains lots of coursework toward that profession. If they didn’t want to become an educator, why would they invest in the career? Next, if teachers don’t like the pay they can always work at another school. “I also believe that real teachers go through many years of training and experience in the field” (Rose, Spayde & Thomas). Teachers spend approximately three to four years in college learning their craft which is more than enough time to know their profession. Lastly, teachers receive a multitude of benefits for example, teachers get weekends off, summer off only if they want, and they receive discounts on book stores throughout their teaching careers.…

Over the past decades, what has continued to be one of the most debatable issues in the world of sports is whether or not college football players should get paid. My honest opinion is football that players should receive a certain proportion of money because of the service that college athletes provide to the institution they attend. In addition, they should be rewarded in a reasonable manner after putting their bodies out on the line, bringing in a tremendous amount of money, it will help with the football athletes to begin creating a sense of financial awareness, and finally it will attract more talented athletes.…

The starting pay of a teacher in Manatee County with a four year degree is $32,000, the exact say pay of a manager with a high school diploma at Walgreens. The amount of time and effort put into developing your craft in the classroom and becoming a successful teacher should require a higher salary that what is currently offered. Teachers need to be paid more for their occupation because of their time spent in attaining a four year degree, because of the increasing cost of living in the Florida area, and because teachers are the ones who are educating our future doctors, lawyers, and presidents. Without teachers our society would not be educated and people would not be given an opportunity to become all they can be.…

The fact that such a theory can exist, that is backed by scientific data is outrageous. It shows that the state is more interested in saving money, then not only caring for its teachers but allowing the students be more successful. To allow teachers to do their job correctly the state should also raise the annual salary of teachers, such that they are not required to hold down multiple jobs and allow them more time to plan their main workday. If they don't have another job on the side then one can be sure that they have financial problems that they must worry about, instead of how their next work day may go. Jim Horn in his article 62 percent of teachers work two jobs states, “Sixty-two percent work outside the classroom to make ends meet. For Erik Benner, an award-winning history teacher in Keller, Tex., money has been a constant struggle. He has two children, and for 15 years has been unable…

Professional athletes are making a way more superior amount of money over teaches, granted athletes dedicate their life to a certain sport, but it's just to play games for our entertainment. Teachers are paid a significantly less amount of money. There is quite the difference in salary between the two jobs of a teacher and as a professional athlete. Have you ever seen how much teachers get stressed and how grumpy they get, no matter if they teach kindergarten or high school students? It’s probably because they’re thinking inside their heads “I do not get paid enough to do this.” In most opinions teachers don’t get paid as much as they are worth. Teachers are so important and are dying out because their pay is not efficient. Teachers basically are responsible for the future because of their students.…

There are many who believe that our teachers here in the United States are severely underpaid. In an article in Weatoday by Tim Walker called “Low Pay Comes at a Higher Cost for Kids” The average construction worker in South Dakota makes about thirty-five thousand dollars per year. This is more than the average teacher makes per year nationwide. Many across the country believe that this is unacceptable and is causing our country to fall far behind the rest of the world in its ability to give its citizen’s a quality education. According to the same article there are “two key factors that determine how…

    Are teachers underpaid?

Are school teachers underpaid? I believe that American school teachers are. With the rising cost of college going to school to be a teacher is slowly becoming a less and less sought out job. Even if perspective teachers pursue their dreams and graduate and get a teaching job, they are almost indefinitely going to need a night job to keep them ahead of their bills. The summer is an even worse since teachers have no source of income. Really the only way a teacher can obtain a decent raise is by getting a master’s degree. Even then the teachers that do that might not be able to cover the cost of the student loans and the regular bills. School teachers in Finland are paid like doctors and are respected twice as much. The country of Finland does this because they recognize teachers as the sole educators of the next generation of politician’s, scientist, and engineers. So for those and many other reasons I believe that American school teachers are underpaid. “Public-school teachers earn less in wages on average than non-teachers with the same level of education.”…
