College is a place to start your own future and to be finally out of mom and dad's house and not to be paid for playing a sport. Some people think that college football players should be paid. But others say they shouldn’t be paid because if you get money to go to that school you don't need anymore money for your college career. If colleges were to pay athletes there would be no fair way to distribute the money. Athletes perform their sport at different levels of ability and for various lengths of time. In addition, not every player is able to compete in a game. Problems would arise about the athlete not playing which would not allow for him/her to receive the money they deserve. The first issue about this problem is that some people believe that athletes should be paid based on an open market system. This idea of an open market system would allow for supply and demand to come into play. In addition, a school would be able to pay their scouted athlete based on the money that comes in because of their ability. However, The payment would vary depending on the market along with the deals that each athlete has with the school. The second issue is about the colleges because not every college can afford the players they want to recruit. In 2013 the NCAA had an investigation on the economic stability of Division 1 sport programs. This study showed that out of 288 Division 1 schools only 23 were running their programs in a profitable way. This means that only those 23 schools had the money to pay a college athlete. In our society, any business not profiting from anything is likely not hiring, and there is no idea…

Money gives food, money gives water, money gives life, but money is not given to collegiate football athletes. The National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA, made a billion dollars on the games during March Madness and even after the nets were cut and a champion was crowned not a single player was give any money. Collegiate football players, or any collegiate player for that matter, should be paid for each game based on how hard they work and how dedicated they are to their sport. The athletes are the basis and the main reason the NCAA makes their millions. In addition, it can give these athletes a financial education and better prepare them for their future. Money is the reason people thrive.…

We should continue the football program due to the positive effects it has on those involved. Football is worth keeping because of the confidence players have with the safety equipment.Players feel safe due to padding added all around the helmet to prevent concussions and have fewer head injuries. Then a plastic shell was then added to protect players upper body from harder collisions. Lastly, the program inserted thigh pads, knee pads, and hip pads to cushion and protect legs from injuries. We should keep Football due to the amount of money it brings our school.Football makes enough money to pay for all of the other school sports. It also can make up to about $63,000 a season. Just our programs and donations raised itself $15,000. Lastly, our…

Over the past decades, what has continued to be one of the most debatable issues in the world of sports is whether or not college football players should get paid. My honest opinion is football that players should receive a certain proportion of money because of the service that college athletes provide to the institution they attend. In addition, they should be rewarded in a reasonable manner after putting their bodies out on the line, bringing in a tremendous amount of money, it will help with the football athletes to begin creating a sense of financial awareness, and finally it will attract more talented athletes.…

In a perfect world the athletes we look up to would be law abiding great citizens. They'll give back to the community, do countless hours of community service, fix our schools, parks, and anything else that's asked of them. However, this is no utopia and some of our athletes are not law abiding citizens; with a few of them having multiple run-ins with the law. Being a media crazed era, we are seeing more athletes have run-ins with the law, particularly the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League. When someone does do something, instantly people form their own opinion about what a proper punishment is and it seems to point too banning players. With that being said, should the National Football…

They not being rewarded or credited for their achievements. They are also living with no money. Since these athletes are living off with no money, they are tempting to take the money from their sports booster club or others donation that are helping them. The problem with this is that athletes are not only getting themselves in trouble but also getting their athletic departments in trouble as well.…

Imagine this: you are in the military force, you risk your life on a day-to-day basis for our country's freedom. If you survive fighting, you sleep on an uncomfortable, rock hard bed and eat nauseating food. You work your tail off, yet you actually make less than the average American does yearly. Now, take into perspective, perhaps a professional boxer: they may risk their lives, but it's for our entertainment, not for our safety. When they are done wrestling, they go back to their five star hotels and eat gourmet food. They train, and yes, they may have worked hard to get to where they are, but they're out here making millions per fight, which is way more than what the average American makes. Look closer, should an entertainer really get paid such a profound amount for one fight, rather than those who work to…

People all over America and the world are consumed with watching athletes perform in their various sports. Both male and female athletes compete at such incredible levels that require physical talent and drive. Professional athletes are known to get paid salaries that reflect their talent and abilities. Regardless of gender, professional athletes are drafted to receive professional pay. However, equal pay for male and female athletes with the same credentials does not occur today. There is a belief that male athletes are worth more than female athletes and are better at promoting themselves. Also, women salaries are lower because of their gender and are not based on their performance. Although audiences seem more excited watching men sports, this does not mean men should get paid more. Men should not be paid more than female athletes who have similar talent and credentials.…
