Argumentative Essay: Should Everyone Go To College?
In terms of arguing why everyone should go to college, 57% of soon-to-be high school graduates believe a college degree no longer carries a value worth the cost. 75% of respondents declared college simply unaffordable. As an antithetical, it can be argued that for most people a high school education would suffice for these purposes and hence not everyone should go to college. Although high school may suffice for some people, it can be argued that the evidence does not prove that not everyone should go to college. The fact that food, water and shelter would keep a person alive does not entail that everyone should not need more than the very basics for survival. “About half (48%) say that paying off that debt made it harder to pay other bills.”

Clearly, New Data Say” envelopes the opposing side of Ozimek’s argument. 5. Basically, Leonhardt is arguing everyone should go to college- but the evidence simply doesn't support this. 6. In the following, I will present the argument of Ozimek as the correct side of this ongoing debate. 7. Diminishing marginal returns are affecting the universal attendance of prospective college students. 8. According to Ozimek, “…for those who are very likely to attend, returns can be very high, and for those who are unlikely, returns can be very negative” (“Should Everyone Go To College?”). 9. Other contributing factors in the argument over whether college is the right path for everyone include a volatile job market as well as minimally impressive salaries for college graduates- according to Ozimek, nearly 20% of college graduates from age 24-35 earned less than the average male high school graduate (“Should Everyone Go To College?”). 10. These factors as well as the issue that a college education is a pricey investment are all warranting consideration in this…

Schools should end later. From my personal experience, I usually end school and then have hours of extra curricular activities, because I am a dancer. This limits my time that I am able to spend on homework, and causes me to stress out. Also, it forces me to go to bed later and not get enough sleep for a growing teen. If school ended earlier I would be able to finish my homework earlier and get to go to bed earlier which would enable me to then get more sleep. Finally, I would get to spend more time with family. I am always rushing home from school, right to my homework and then off to dance, and then back home for homework. I never get to talk to my family and tell them about my day.…

For this debate I am debating why school time should stay the same. J.C.M.S middle school in Sierra Vista has a delayed start time of 9:00 a.m., and finish school at 4:00 p.m. This affects the children who are involved if afternoon sports, most time not getting out until 6:00 p.m sometimes later. If you have homework that same night after spending two hours doing a sport you might procrastinate and not do your homework at all or you will be tired and end up making mistakes that should not have been made. An earlier start time ensures an earlier release time letting sports start earlier and homework being done at an earlier time while not as exhausted from the day.…

Two years of FREE community college! In theory, this sounds like a really good idea, and would give numerous people, who would otherwise not have the option to continue his education, the opportunity to get a good start on his college degree. President Obama has proposed a two year, free community college plan. in his speech given at Pellissippi State College in Knoxville, Tennessee, President Obama stated, a college education should be “as free and universal as high school is today” (Korte). High school is not free. Tax paying citizens pay for children to get a high school education. College should be more affordable for those who wish to pursue a higher education, but the President’s plan will not work; there are too many expenses that would not allow the nation to support every college student who attends a two year college. There are too many questions and concerns about offering two years of free higher education to everyone. College is not for everyone, and certainly will…
