Argumentative Essay On Placement
Phillip just stopped by the office to drop off Alex’s art supplies. Alex will love them! He was one of the muralists for this year, and he speaks often of his goal to go to an art school like Otis.

I was pulled in the loop earlier on this summer by Jackie regarding Alex’s post camp placement. As you might already know, he has no guardians so Jackie and I have been working with probation to identify options. Kim Keating, the AB12 probation supervisor has been incredibly helpful in getting us in touch with the coordinator with Placement Permanency. As of now, it seems like there may be a possibility for him to be placed with sister or more likely suitable placement. This then will then make him not only eligible for ILP services but also AB12.

Alex has an upcoming MDT and will be assigned to our reentry counselor Megan Stanford, so if you have any questions about his post release, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Until then, Jackie will

The Frontier Post, an English newspaper mostly based in the Middle East, released a particularly powerful advertisement in 2013 to promote safe driving. At first glance, it would appear that the advertisement is a picture of a firearm, front and center, placed in the spotlight of an otherwise gloomy backdrop. In reality, the advertisement depicts a set of car keys, cleverly arranged to resemble a revolver. Underneath the gun lies a very somber message, “Takes one life every 25 seconds, Drive Safe”. The bottom right corner displays the organization’s information, and the bottom left corner offers a citation for the hair raising statistic. One could quickly deduce that the Frontier Post was targeting people’s susceptibility to fear with this ad. The advertisement uses fear in order to evoke emotional responses to successfully fulfil its purpose.…

As a team we decided that Stanley Garvas’s parole plan would be to focus on drug/alcohol treatment along with some family counseling. We agreed that Stanley needed proper guidance and treatment due to his mental state of depression after the death of his son. He had no prior records of any run-ins with the law so; his parole plan was strictly focused on his drinking and his family. This plan presented to be successful as Stanley showed great improvements. He attended regular AA meetings and family counseling sessions with his wife and children. He has been sober for more than 60 days. He is making a genuine effort to address the family and behavioral issues that led to his abuse of alcohol.…

As of November 20, 2014, same –sex marriage has been legalized in 35 out of 50 U.S. states. Same-sex marriage is a hot topic which the Supreme Court is considering to legalize. Many people say a homosexual person is a sinner. The question is do homosexual people choose his or her gender? They were born that way and they are happy with their lives. Homosexual people are nothing unlike heterosexual people. They are living, they are working, and they contribute to society. Proponents state that same-sex couples should have access to the same marriage benefits and public acknowledgment enjoyed by heterosexual couples and that prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional discrimination. On the other side, opponents argue that altering the traditional definition of marriage as between a man and a woman will further weaken a threatened institution and that legalizing gay marriage is a slippery downhill way that may lead to polygamous and interspecies marriages (gaymarriage.procon.org). All people in the world should understand the meaning of marriage, whether a same-sex marriage or a traditional marriage. For that reason, same-sex marriage should be considered as a legal marriage because it is an equal right for humankind and beneficial for society as well as preventing youth suicide.…

The Safe Space Network defines a safe space as, “A place where the rules guard each person’s self-respect and dignity and strongly encourage everyone to respect others.” Many college campuses across the country has these “safe spaces”. In Brown University, their safe space includes cookies, coloring books, bubbles, a video of puppies, and other child-like related items meant to promote self expression, no matter how controversial the utilizer’s gender identity, religious beliefs, or culture. Contrary to their name, I believe safe spaces have the potential for extreme danger when students cannot express their ideas outside of those zones. Being told to keep ideas to one’s self restricts important qualities of human nature--self-expression and individuality. The fear of offending others, an increase in narcissistic value, and a…
