Argumentative Essay On Medical Marijuana
Medical marijuana reduces pain and has helped people on overdose. Medical marijuana is a way of not using a pill that could go over 1,000mg an overdose, medical marijuana is a vapor that is inhaled and is able to work through people's system in order to help them cure their illnesses in not a dangerous way. As in the article “Medical Marijuana reduces pain killer overdose” Medical marijuana have reduced the numbers of people that have overdosed. This shows that if the use of medical marijuana has reduced more deaths than taking pills doctors or physicians will soon be prescribing more medical marijuana to their patients because now that it has been proven that people on medical marijuana happen to heal faster and cause less deaths than pills or other prescriptions.

Doctors are able to help patients when tested in what they are injured or have a condition for. Kay Lazar is a health reporter in many different areas and in the article “Steady Growth Seen In Medical Marijuana” states that medical marijuana is used in different prescriptions to help people with their illnesses. So medical marijuana can be mixed or added to a person’s prescription and be able to help that person with what they are overcoming.

This would help because it is a form of showing that medical marijuana can be used differently and also when inhaled work different for your body. Chinese emperor Shen Nung was the first to record marijuana as a medical drug in 2737 B.C. He documented the drug’s effectiveness in treating the pains associated with rheumatism and gout. The legalization of medical marijuana has long been debated within American society and Government. Marijuana was a legal source for medicines in the U.S. until the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, which federally prohibited marijuana. Prior to the enactment of the Marijuana Tax Act, there were at least twenty-seven legal medicines that contained marijuana available in the U.S. In 1970, The Controlled Substances Act placed marijuana into a Schedule I status defining it as having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the U.S. and a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision. Currently it remains illegal under federal law in the United States other than the four Americans that were grandfathered under the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program. Contradictory to federal law, at present, medical marijuana is legalized in sixteen states and Washington, DC. There have been multiple studies and research done by advocates for and against medical marijuana legalization.
