Argumentative Essay On Hulu
One of the greatest inventions in the world is Hulu. I mean it’s not as cool as the iPhone or the TV but it is definitely up on that level. Hulu is the only video streaming software that offers a live episode the next day. Personally, there’s absolutely nothing better than it. But there’s one problem with Hulu. It has advertisements. Every frickin eight minutes, there’s a goddamn ad.
What is the point of having an ad? It’s not like anybody even pays attention to them. They’re honestly just a waste of time. You’re watching a really good tv show and it’s getting to the climax and then out of nowhere, an ad pops up. Usually, they’re about useless stuff that nobody cares about. Why would I want to know about oxiclean products when I’m here to watch an episode of Riverdale?
…show more content…
By the time the ad ends, I already forgot what the TV show was about. And sometimes they even spoil TV shows. Let me give you an example. I once saw an ad about the newest episode of the Flash. The ad just spoiled everything. I learned from the ad that the main character, Barry, basically came back from the dead. If the ad had not been played, I would’ve actually been interested in watching and continuing the show.
Seriously, there’s nothing more annoying than ads. I don’t even understand why companies spend so much money on ads. They are literally spending millions of dollars to display something that the majority of people don’t watch. Also, most of the time they’re about something that we already know about.
When I’m watching an ad all I think about is how unimaginative it is. There’s nothing ads show to make them interesting. The most logical thing to do would be to at least make them funny. You’re wasting your own money and everyone else’s time, so you might as well make them funny. Seriously, they’re extremely boring. Why do you want to hear an old man say “Oxiclean gets the tough stains out” when you could hear a little baby try to say

I can tell be honest when I say ads sometimes get in the way of what I'm trying to watch or listen too . I usually just turn the volume of and start doing something else in the meantime . I know the ads are usually just 30 seconds- 1 minutes but if you're really not into a certain ad at all it might take a century just to finish . Advertisements are not always believable .…

Commercials are designed to attract people to a certain product that they are planning to sale. It has been this way for years and over time both companies and people have only increased their knowledge on what people want. Advertisements are designed to attract public attention and patronage. There are many different types of ads. There are ads that promote goods and services, and there are also ads such as political campaign ads and non-profit health ads such as those ?Quit Smoking? campaigns. The purpose of all ads, regardless of their content is to sell something to the reader. Whether it is a billboard for a Hollywood blockbuster, or an antismoking ad on the back of a buss, they both are meant to make the reader want to buy a product or an idea. In the cause of the billboard the product is a ticket to the movie, while the item being sold by the antismoking ad is the idea that smoking is unhealthy. Political ads are no different; they are also created to sell a product or an idea. Their product is the candidate they want to win, while the idea is that candidate is the right choice or his opponent is the wrong choice. This is most noticeable during election years when many competing groups are trying to sell their favorite candidate to the public.…

By giving form to people's deep-lying desires and picturing states of being that individuals privately yearns for, advertisers have the best chance of arresting attention and affecting communication. And that is the immediate goal of advertising: to tug at our psychological shirts sleeves amd slow us down long enough for a word or two about whatever is being sold. We glance at a picture of a solitary rancher at work, and "Marlboro" slips into our minds. Advertisers (I'm using the…

Either we like them or we don’t. That’s the simple truth. And if we’re perfectly honest, most of the time we don’t. Advertising has always been a daring game in the 21st century, though. Facts, figures, weasel words, and magic ingredients: whatever the strategy, ads are everywhere, and with the opportunity to sway even a small fraction of 7 billion people, companies will stop at nothing to win us over.…

Whether we like it or not, advertising has become a big part of our lives. It is no longer limited to a page in a magazine and oversized billboards on our open roads and highways. We are now exposed to them through television, the internet, and annoyingly in our cinemas! It can be a nuisance and quite overwhelming, but ideal for our generation and economy. The more money we spend, the more taxes we pay, resulting in more job opportunities. Marketers spend millions of dollars researching and analyzing how consumers think and what we buy. Based on their results, the advertisers then break us off into demographic groups. Have you ever noticed when you’re online, that many of the pop-ups and advertisements are generally items you’re interested in? The reason is that it’s all based on your searches and internet history. I have picked an effective ad that I’ve seen numerous times pop up on my children’s favorite websites. I’ve noticed that my older son who never favored too much in what is in this advertisement; all of a sudden crave and enjoy the product.…

Some feel that television advertising puts unfair pressure on consumers. While many people feel like this, I think that it doesn’t have to be that way! As soon as an advert comes on, all we have to do is switch the channel over with a click of a button. We don’t have to watch them, we aren’t forced to! If adverts weren’t there, we wouldn’t even be able to watch T.V programmes, so aren’t they a good thing? They also let us know of new products and technology, but we aren’t forced to buy them with a gun to our heads! Thus adverts may be a bit boring, but remember you wouldn’t be watching your favourite yellow family if it weren’t for…

There are many goals that are achieved when advertising is occurring. Maybe the advertisement is trying to get first-time users to use their product, or maybe they are trying to get regular buyers to continue buying their product.
