They're in the streets and on the highways asking for money because they're homeless due to numerous circumstances. The money that they do get from strangers they may put to better use like buying clothes or food or maybe the bus fare to go home. Which is why people should feel obligated to be compassionate toward those less fortunate because they're homeless for numerous amount of circumstances. Helping those less fortunate can help us progress as a society, it could happen to you without even wanting it to happen. We live in a society that only advances after we adopt disciplined beliefs in helping others. If we did not, we would decay become, ruined by personal rivalry and obsession about our own well being. Those that can't help themselves can receive help and in turn, that can empower them to help others, and so everyone standing and livelihood improve. Yes, that may be the case, but homelessness is hard to solve “between 2000 to 2011 the number of poor residents in the suburb of the US's largest metropolitan areas grew by 64%.
