Argumentative Essay On Gun For Protection
People’s lives were changed forever when guns started being used for protection. The topic I will be arguing will be carrying a gun for protection. Some people believe this is a good thing and others think something needs to be done about it. The government should enforce a law that no citizen has the right to carry a gun for protection to ensure that all citizens are safe.Three reasons include citizen safety, terrorism, and police safety. To wrap it all up, there are three main reasons using a gun for protection is a problem. I am going to start with my first reason which is police safety. One way carrying a gun for protection is a problem is because of police safety. Sixty-four Policeman were shot in the line of duty in 2016, the most in five years. Policemen would not be at as high of a risk of being killed if guns were banned, especially in high crime rate cities …show more content…
You have more security. Owning a gun for protection makes you feel safer even though commonly it is more dangerous to have one. You feel safer when carrying a gun, if someone tries to harm you or anyone near you you can protect yourself and others. If someone tries to rob your house you can stop them. If someone breaks into your house you can protect yourself and your family. You can also stop the burglar from taking your things, but still could harm yourself and or your neighbors and anyone near you. Now you can see why having a gun for protection can be a good thing.

To conclude a law should be enforced to ensure that all citizens are safe. They should do this in order to protect police and to help put an end to terrorism. My two reasons are police safety and citizen safety. Because of terrorism, public safety, and police safety, there should be a law to enforce that no citizen can carry a gun. In other words, the government should make a law that no citizen can carry a gun to protect everyone and prevent future

For my final project I have chosen to use the arguments for banning guns. I do not agree with these arguments but, I will attempt to address their statements and provide a sound counter argument for each of their points that I discuss. During this final project I hope that I can help shed light on the subject for both sides of the argument and come to a common ground. I believe that is the point of making arguments and counter arguments. It is to get the issue out in the open and make sound decision, based in fact, that is the best possible out comes for both parties.…

Before this assignment I opposed the open carry law. It endangers the lives of children, teens, and adults. Guns should not be allowed on college campuses, amusement parks, or any other public place. My attitude and beliefs toward about the open carry after doing this assignment has changed slightly. I am still not in agreement with carrying loaded guns anywhere. However, under certain circumstances, it should be allowed. For example, if a female nurse is getting off work late and she is parked in the hospital garage, she would need something to protect herself with just in case someone were to try to harm her. Although, my suggestion is for people to use Tasers, or other form of weapons to protect themselves instead of…

Many Americans believe that Gun-Control Laws should be enforced, because “Individuals do not need guns for protection; it is the role of local and federal government to protect the people through law enforcement agencies and the military.” (http://www.StudentNewsDaily.com) All Individuals deserve the right to carry a gun with them at all times, to use for protection. According to the Second Amendment in the Constitution, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” (https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/second_amendment) Obtaining a gun, gives one the sense of feeling safe and protected given any situation. No one knows when they may be “attacked” or in danger, and the protection they need from the government may not always be there to protect them. Every American must learn self-defense and use it when needed, they shouldn’t have to rely and anyone but themselves.…

Stricter gun laws should not be put in place because people feel safer owning a gun. Since it is impossible for our government to protect every family from every break in or every assault, it is necessary to own a gun. Even walking around on the street with a concealed carry firearm would make anyone feel safer. In fact, (1) states that implemented "shall-issue" concealed carry laws reduced murders by 8.5%. So not only does it make you feel protected, it also gives criminals a reason to not go after you. This is just one of the many reasons why more strict gun control laws would not be the best idea.…

There is a major debate going on in the U.S. on gun control. Should people have the right to carry a concealed weapon or should they only be allowed to have a gun in their home? Another question is if the government were to ban guns would that be doing us law-abiding citizens more harm then good? Or maybe they should only allow guns in the hands of people that have had background checks and our licensed to handle them. [C]itizens in Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas are asking their state legislatures for the ability to defend themselves against violent criminal attack regardless of where the attack takes place”(Swasey 175).…

Some people around the world are pressured into things that they do not want to do or they are expected to become something they aren’t. The act of being the “perfect” person puts pressure on people even when they don’t want to change. Sometimes going through a certain situation can show who a person really is. In the novel The Awakening written by Kate Chopin she portrays Edna as someone who is trying to break free of the title “the perfect mother-woman”. Kate Chopin uses several literary devices such as, symbolism, her characters and use of language to show how hard it is for women to live in society and the pressure with the expectations to be the perfect mother-woman.…

Gun control is a controversial and divisive issue in our routine life, not only in the United States, but also all over the world. Basically, gun control refers to governmental efforts to limit or restrict the production, sale, possession and use of guns by private citizens. Some people believe that it is necessary that federal and state laws allow citizens to purchase and possess guns, or even actively require adult citizens to maintain weapons in their house, and periodically to train in their use. However, others think gun control is indispensable in our society because gunshots are the main cause of death in the United States. As for me, I prefer to support the second view because guns are lethal and the fewer people that have them the better. The only function of a gun is to kill. The more instruments of death are removed from our society, the safer we will be. With my research, I found a lot of striking data about guns menacing people’s lives. There should be gun control in the United States because guns are a menace to people’s lives.…

Gun control is an issue that is much talked about in the United States of America. Events that took place recently such as the shooting in the Sandyhook Elementary school and the shooting in the showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” have made the government rethink whether or not the gun control laws, or their lack of gun control laws at that, are strict enough. Although these tragic events took place, people still want to stand by the Second amendment, which states, “… the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” These words being from the Constitution makes it pretty hard to go against it, because most people think its there for a reason so it must be right. However, it is not. The government should not take the right to bear arms away completely, but the government should not let the people have too much freedom with the right as well. Thus we should revise and strengthen gun control laws to the right amount to support Americans and continue to hold onto the less strict way of controlling guns.…

Gun violence in the United States is a significantly large problem for our society. Many people die daily due to senseless gun crimes. Although I realize that the availability of guns isn’t the only factor that causes gun violence, I believe that making more responsible regulations is a step in the right direction towards making a difference. For this reason more gun control regulations should be enacted to ensure the safety of our citizens.…
