His most likely replacement will be Davis Webb who is a former Texas quarterback. Despite the fact that Webb’s numbers are good, Cals will still struggle. Football is a game of force and power, and the answer to problems on the field often is "Hit him harder" or “run faster.” Success is based on dominating the offensive and defensive lines and, if possible, not turning the ball over during the game. The U.S. Justice Department is looking into the BCS system. The DOJ wonders if it violates antitrust laws. It wonders why, when every other college sport has a playoff system, major college football does not.…

On the other hand I question if Luck will be able to stay healthy I'm worried 2015 was a precursor to the future. Luck suffered a shoulder injury and a lacerated kidney causing him to miss the latter part of last year. The injuries were in large part due to the lack of protection from his offensive line he was pressured on 32% of his drawbacks no quarterback will come out unscathed if they're constantly facing that much heat. If he gets hurt again the Colts are royally screwed and last time I checked there aren't that many quality NFL backups in the league.…

A&M has only had two heisman winners, John David Crow and Johnny Manziel. The Heisman award is one of the biggest awards in college football. John David Crow won the Heisman in 1957, racking up 562 yards, 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Paul “Bear” Bryant commented before the Heisman ceremony, “ If John David Crow doesn’t win the Heisman they ought to stop giving it.” Johnny Manziel won the Heisman award in 2012. He broke the SEC record for total offense in a game with 557 yards and 4 touchdowns against Arkansas. The next week he broke his own SEC record with 576 yards and 6 touchdowns against number 23 Louisiana Tech. Four weeks later the aggies show up in Tuscaloosa to take on number 1 Alabama. The aggies upset the tide and Manziel ended…

The Bowl Championship Series has created controversy in college football since it was created in 1998. This system was set in order for the top two BCS college football teams to meet in the national championship and there are 8 other teams that play in four other BCS bowl games. There was much debate for several years whether there should be a playoff system, which will allow many teams to qualify for the National championship, as opposed to just two teams. Now that the playoff system has been established the question arises regarding the overall effects of the change. Although extending the season with a playoff may create other concerns, it will be the best for college football fans and the school’s academic program.…

With 34 bowl games in the end of each season 68 teams out of the 120 teams are allowed to compete for the top 34 spots in the nation. Ending the season with 34 champs every year. How we are satisfied with 34 teams as the champions at the end of each season we need to get this playoff system reworked so we can have the opportunity to call the final team at end a true “champion.” After over 140 years without a playoff system, the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee approved a four-team college football playoff on June 26, 2012. The new Football Bowl Series (formerly Division I-A) playoff is scheduled to begin in the 2014-15 season and continue through the 2025 season. (Dinch) According to the BCS, a selection committee will decide which teams will participate in the playoff. Decision factors include win-loss record, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and whether a team is a conference champion. (Dinch) The semifinals will rotate among current bowl sites, and the national championship game will be hosted in the city that places the highest bid. An ESPN poll with 112,252 participants found that 77% said the four-team playoff was the right move for college football, but 61% said eight teams would be ideal. (ESPN, ProCon) The four-team playoff is a good start in the right direction, but hopefully it will expand to eight teams or maybe even sixteen in the future, similar to college basketballs sweet…

In 2005 the world had been introduced to one of the best collegiate running backs to ever go through the University of Southern California. His name is Reggie Bush and he achieved one of the best personal awards any collegiate football player could want and that would be the Heisman award. Reggie bush played running back for USC in 2005, he was 6 foot tall and weighed 200 pounds, and he played tailback as a sophomore in college and played in 13 games. He was named “Pigskin club of Washington D.C offensive player of the year.” He was also named the2004 PAC-10 offensive player of the year, “Then He was named the 2005 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year (just the fifth player ever so honored and the first non-quarterback to do it in 20 years) and also made the All-Pac-10 first team as a tailback (the squad's only unanimous pick) and second team as a punt returner.” Nor do I need to mention that he won the 2005 Heisman trophy award by a landslide. Bush received 2,541 points and beat Young by a staggering 93 points. Everybody knows that bush deserves the Heisman trophy whether they want to admit to it or not Bush was the best.…

According to the end of the year Associated Press Poll, Alabama was not an unanimous number one. LSU received one first place vote and Oklahoma State received 4 first place votes. Oklahoma State finished up 3rd in the final poll, after defeating Stanford in the Tostitos Fiesta bowl. It became near impossible to produce another game. It would be too expensive to break even and, players will demand more pay. It is unlikely another college football game will ever get…
