Does religion really cause war? There has been a strong debate on this topic for a very long time. Religion has been around as far back as the modern researchers have been able to find. Even dating back to the early inhabitants of the world. People back then didn't know how to explain certain things in the world, so they used religion to explain it. Early Greeks and Romans created mythological gods and goddesses to explain a multitude of things they could not otherwise explain. They had gods to explain why it rained, why crops grew, why the sun and moon shined, and even why people were born and died. But later down the world's timeline, different people began to develop a series of different religious beliefs. When these people met up, they tried to explain their belief to one another and this caused arguments, and in some cases when arguments weren't settled and tempers got too high, one party may kill the other, which counts as a war.
