My topic is about whether or not contact sports should be banned. Contact sports are sports in which the players come into some sort of bodily contact with one another, for example football. Most people say that it should not be banned and a few say it should be. On one website, 75% of people said it should not be banned and the other 25% of people said it should be.
Some people think that contact sports are very dangerous, which to some extent is true, so they think it should be banned. Others say that it should not be banned because the choice is self made to play those sports. An argument made, by people who are for banning it, said that contact sports are very dangerous and can cause death or bad injury, which is not a lie. People who say

I believe that soccer players should not have to wear helmets in while they are in a game.My first reason, is that, even though its not by much, the helmet actully slowes you down, and makes it harder to balence, while you are trying to out run the defence that that team has setup. There is no proof that anyone has gotten a concussion because of a soccer ball hitting them in game. “The perception is that purposeful heading can lead to brain injury and this is incorrect. Concussions and repeated heading are two separate entities.” Also the ball would have to by flying at incredible speeds. “As has been stated, mathematical modeling of heading shows that the ball velocity necessary to potentially cause a concussion in a prepared head is greater than any ball velocity ever recorded (over 100 mph). No one knows the effect of repeated subconcussive impacts.” ←← Source…

In a perfect world the athletes we look up to would be law abiding great citizens. They'll give back to the community, do countless hours of community service, fix our schools, parks, and anything else that's asked of them. However, this is no utopia and some of our athletes are not law abiding citizens; with a few of them having multiple run-ins with the law. Being a media crazed era, we are seeing more athletes have run-ins with the law, particularly the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League. When someone does do something, instantly people form their own opinion about what a proper punishment is and it seems to point too banning players. With that being said, should the National Football…

Some view football as a sport that promotes violence and knowingly damages its players, while others claim it instills valuable life values and unites the American people. Even though football is known to cause neurological damage to its players, it’s not the sports fault, the fault lies in the NFL for purposely knowing the dangers of playing football and not taking action to protect its players.…
