Drones have been a hot topic in the news lately. “Currently, small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) may be operated for hobby and recreational purposes under specific safety guidelines as established by Congress” (Know Before You fly).Drones have been around since the early 1900’s by flying around with balloons attached to a picture camera. Drones have evolved to match the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. Although some people use drones for recreational purposes, they should be in the hands of a professional to benefit the environment, citizens, and the government.
Drones can take care of wildlife, by providing “security” for endangered animals in the wild (fs.fed.us). “Drones are being used to monitor populations of animals in the wild” (Estes).
