When it comes to your junior year of high school the topic college starts to appear in your conversations more often. You start to think about what college you want to attend and then soon enough you start the application process. Some students have the grades and funds to venture off into the collages they want. On the other hand, there are some students who start their college experience at a community college because they don't have the grades or funds to venture off to their dream college. To some, community college is the way to go to get their grades up to par with their dream schools standers or until they have enough funds to attend their dream college. For instance, in the documentary “Discounted Dreams” it lets you see the pros and cons of community college. For some people like Jose Sosa community college benefits him and his family. Jose decided to go to community college and further his education there because he did not have the grades or the funds to attend the college he wanted. When Jose first started attending Los Angeles Trade and Tech in downtown L.A he was working a job that paid less than $10.00 an hour. After a while of attending community college he landed a job at an exclusive beach club paying $10.00 an hour, the most he's ever made. Jose is one of the few people who graduated community college with a career in what he wanted. He is one of not many people who was benefited by community college. He landed a job he wanted, at the same time he was evicted out of the house he was renting because the owner decided he wanted to sell, but since jose was working a job that paid a good salary he was able to rent a house in a better city than the one he lived in before. Jose didn't not complete his study at Los Angeles Tradeand tech by letting things slip by. Jose was committed, to his education. To get to school it was a four hour commute and still at the end of the day had to go to work and he had to spend time with his family. It was Jose’s effort and persistence that help him get through community college and achieve his goal in becoming a
