English 102: Argumentative Essay (Essay #1) May 14th 2012 outline I. Introduction: 1. Background: Nowadays, Television is an unavoidable part of modern culture. It plays an important role in our life. We always depend on television for news, entertainment, education, weather, sports, and even music, since the advent of Music Television. 2. Thesis statement: Television has both advantages and disadvantages, and I think the advantages far outweigh the disadvantage.

II. Body:

1. Rebut their arguments:
Their arguments: Worst of all, children may waste most of their time watching TV and ignore their homework, study or work.
2.My arguments:
(1). Firstly, for many of us, watch TV is a way of source of news.
