Argument Against Aging
In reading the article the author took a one sided approach to sharing the information. This article mainly focused on the controversy surrounding the topic. The examples that are brought up all support the side of they need to stop kneeling and stand up for the national anthem. Only briefly did they mention that the kneeling was in protest. One of the points of the article was how president Trump was getting involved. Over twitter he sent messages saying things like, kneeling is not acceptable and to fire anyone that disrespects our flag. The other point the article brought up was how this kneeling protest stated with quarterback Colin Kaepernick last year, and has spread to almost entire teams waiting in the locker room until after the national …show more content…
The other side is a little harder to understand, but in my own opinion I don’t believe either side is one hundred percent right. One one side we have the players kneeling to help the problems in the this country and the other they are disrespecting it. Some people see them as heroes, while others want them fired. Where I stand is that it is disrespectful kneel during the national anthem. Saying this, I do have respect for those who kneel because they are still participating in the anthem. I feel the players that are stretching and staying in the locker room during the anthem are just lazy, and I have no respect for them. The reason I feel that it is disrespectful to kneel during the national anthem is because these players are payed millions of dollars to play a game. A game the only reason they are playing is because of the people the national anthem is about. The solders that have given their live for this country. The least they could do is stand to honor them, but give them the benefit of the doubt I don't think they see it as disrespecting the soldiers. They see it as trying to awaken the country of the problems that it is facing. The thing they should know is that if they really want to help there is other ways that don’t disrespect the soldiers. At the end of the day this problem is going to go on until one of the sides gives in, and the only thing I hope for is the continuation of the national anthem

It has been argued that Colin Kaepernick kneeling while the National Anthem is playing, is absolutely ridiculous, is not showing support for love of this country, and not showing support to the veterans. In “The Perilous Fight,” Jim Brown, a NFL Hall of Famer and a civil rights activist. Told Time, “I would not do anything that has to do with respecting the flag or the national anthem. I don’t think it’s appropriate.” In other words Jim Brown would challenge the normal of standing for the Anthem, no matter the severity of the situation. For this reason opponents argue that Colin Kaepernick kneeling down is not right for him to be testing the flag; but it’s not also right for the police of America to be able to go on a killing spree and have…

What if Tom Brady decided to take a knee during the national anthem? “He wouldn’t do that.” He quickly interjected. “But what if he did?” I asked. There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before my friend answered. “I really don’t think he would do that.” He insisted. “Me either” I countered. “but, what if he did?” after a short pause my friend answered as if I had taken all the wind out of his sails. “If Tom did that, he would be as bad as Kaep.” He said the words but, they didn’t ring true. This is coming from a man I have known all my life who I know is no racist. It’s just an unconscious bias that we all have in one way or another. The reaction to Colin Keapernick protest to the national anthem was swift and for the most…

In the article “Seahawks, Titans, Steelers Stay in Locker Rooms during National Anthem as More Players Protest” by Katherine Iam, the author will explain the same thing and also states how Donald Trump kept tweeting about the NFL players that knelt during the national anthem and said that all the players need to be fired and wanted them to get out of the field. Kneeling during the national anthem Kneeling during the national anthem has become very controversial in the NFL community, this has caused conflict in our country. NFL players kneel during the national anthem to protest things they do not agree with in the USA. For example, Jabrill Peppers, a rookie safety for the Browns, said of the protest, “There’s a lot of racial and social injustices in the world that are going on right now. We just decided to take a knee and pray for the people who have been affected and just pray for the world in general. Personally speaking, kneeling during the national anthem should not be allowed because it is disrespectful, it is an ineffective way to protest, and it creates division in our country.…

    Marching Band Stereotypes

Sadly, even after all of their hard work, no one rarely ever goes to football games for the marching band performance. They don’t because society has shown them that marching band isn’t important through the history of marching band, the lack of publicity towards marching band, the cultural neglectance of the halftime performance, the lack of funds towards marching band committees, neglecting to regard how hard marchers work on a daily basis, and refusing to let marching band be considered a sport. Marching band stemmed from army bands, and the main reason that musicians were involved in army band was because they were too weak to be in the actual army. There is never a segment during a news broadcast that has to do with the daily schedule of marching band, as it is with sports. Marching band is unique to American culture, yet, society has neglected its importance. Many marching bands around the area are going into financial crises because of the lack of funds and sponsorships for them. Marchers are some of the most hard-working people that are involved in a sport, yet, people neglect all of the hard work that they put into the performance. Marchers practice the same amount of hours that other sports do and they also have uniforms and equipment that is needed for them, yet teams such as football and basketball are allowed to be documented as sports and marching band can’t.…
