A healthier school lunch plan; would this be more beneficial for the students oppose to a better tasting, less nutritious lunch? I'm against a newer more healthier lunch plan due to the reason that we students really don't need it nor want it. In this essay I will state and explain my position on this topic of disagreement. First, the school lunch plan we have now still has nutritional value in it. It just doesn't offer as much nutrition in it compared to the new school lunch menu. For the students that actually need a more nutritious diet we can a establish a special lunch plan for them; but by establishing a completely healthy lunch plan for all the students isn't necessary. Next, the students like the lunches the school offers…

The government should not have a say in school lunches because students are not getting the nutrition they need. “They have been hearing from parent and particularly older students who are unhappy with the lower calorie and lower-fat meals full of fruits and vegetables” (Newsleader). Many guardians of the students think it's better for their kids to take what they will actually, eat instead of getting fruits and vegetables that they will throw in the trash anyway. But, there is one part of school that everyone looks forward to; lunch. After waiting through a couple periods a student can talk openly with his or her peers, and enjoy some food that the school provides. That is, until, something gets slopped onto their plate that looks like cardboard, plastic, or something some people can’t even describe. School lunches haven’t always been this way though, and new, healthier school lunches are to blame. Healthier school lunches are not acceptable the way that they are now, because of the cost they create and the terrible taste of most of the lunches. There are some arguments though, that are for healthy school lunches, but really they aren’t that great.…

Lunch is the key point in every student’s day. It’s the time where they can relax, take a break from class, get their energy back up, and enjoy a good meal. Yet, students won’t be able to enjoy lunch when the food their eating makes them sick. Kids only have so many options to what they eat that they choose what they want instead of what is good for them. Instead of choosing between apple slices and french fries, students should be given the option of different fruits and/or vegetables to help them keep their energy up, prevent students from getting sick, and helps students grow.…

A meal from a fast food restaurants contains about 840 calories. Just by looking at this, you can see that there are a lot fewer calories in a school lunch than in a fast food meal. Also, since they can choose how much food they want, the students could buy more food than is necessary. By doing this, there could be even more calories than in an average fast food meal.
