Children playing school sports has been a very controversial topic. Overall sports are great for kids for many reasons. Sports are socially beneficial for kids and, give kids the chance to get college scholarships. Although some may say there is too much pressure on young kids, sports are very rewarding. Sports are very important to kids and help get everyone active.
The first reason sports are good for kids is because sports are socially beneficial. Article Are High School Sports Good For Kids stated sports encourage “Participation and sportsmanship.” Sports are socially beneficial because they give children the chance to make new friends. Also sports help children gain more confidence. CBS news stated kids who don’t play any sports are more likely to be lonely and lack self confidence. While many kids do go to college not everyone can afford it. KCRA news stated the chances to get a sports scholarship can be from 3-11 percent chance. Sports give kids a chance to get a college scholarship. Kids going to college for sports is an overall good experiance. Also sports are well celebrated and gives kids good recognition.
